Drafting- Class Project (Questions # 1-11)

: rafting is technical drawing which purposes are to explain the acts of how an object
functions. Also, drafting provides information about how something is constructed. Additionally,
drafting helps communicate ideas with other people easily. While drafting, people add details that
make the plan or the object more specific for people to understand.

There are various forms of drafting which include, architectural drafting, in which you draw
the designs of buildings including different parts of models and details to it. Another form of drafting
is electrical or electronics drafting, where each individual is insured about the technical knowledge
and skilled with occupations such as electronic/electrical engineers, computers engineers, and
others. There is also the machine/mechanical drafting which is based on the computer-aided drafting
(CAD) and the technical drafting. This type of drafting focusses on blueprints of machines used by
engineers. In all, there are many more forms of drafting which includes airplane drafting, ship or
naval drafting, topographical drafting, structural drafting, and the sheet metal drafting.

Drafting involves many essential skills that are required for doing drafting. These skills are
separated into physical, educational, safety, and legal requirements. The educational requirements
for drafting are completing a postsecondary education in drafting. The postsecondary education will
demonstrate two years to earn an associate’s degree from the technical institute or from a
community college. Some institutes may only contain a specific type of drafting. Anyways, after
earning an associate’s degree, they may get jobs as drafters or maybe continue their education for
another four years at a college. While in high school, there may be some classes related to drafting
that will be useful for postsecondary education. In all the educational requirements for drafting will
last between 2-6 years.

Moving on, the safety requirements for drafting include computer safety. Computer safety
focusses on taking an eye break for every twenty to thirty minutes, the monitor being twenty to
thirty inches away from the eyes, the height should not require the head moving up or down, and the
wrist should be neutral. Some other safety rules include wearing eye protection when necessary,
avoiding jewelry or loose fit clothing, and keeping the shop area clean. There is also the hand tool
safety which determines seek for first aid for any injuries immediately, no matter how small it is.
Importantly, always ensure that your hands are away from any operating blades or dangerous tools.

There are numerous high school courses that will help pursuing drafting as a trade which
includes a course from the Terry Fox Secondary School called, TECHNOLOGY 10: DRAFTING & DESIGN
(Level I). This course focuses on the students that show an interest in drafting and careers related
including, engineering, architecture, carpentry, industrial design, and other professions. Importantly,
the Terry Fox Secondary School also continues the different grade levels of drafting courses like the
DRAFTING & DESIGN 11 (Level I/II), DRAFTING & DESIGN 12, DRAFTING & DESIGN 12: ARCHITECTURAL &
HABITAT DESIGN, DRAFTING & DESIGN 12: ENGINEERING & MECHANICAL DRAFTING, and DRAFTING AND
DESIGN 12: TECHNICAL VISUALIZATION. Additionally, more students from their school are learning to
use the CAD (computer-aided design).
