History is essential to a nation and its people. Without historians, we would not
know about our past, the heroic deeds of our heroes. It is important to teach history
because history provides identity to a certain country. History’s true value lies in how we
apply the lessons from the past to our present and our future. We should teach history to
the children so that they would learn to give value to the freedom that they are experiencing
now.

2. Why the content of history is important?5pts.

The content of history is important because it is what happened from the past. It is
our ground proof of what has really happened. It is a big evidence. Everything that
happened in the past shouldn’t be altered and it should all be authentic. The content of
history are facts from the past. Important events that should be given importance and have
great value to our life. The contents of our history is what shape us. It molded us to be like
this because we appreciate what had happened.

3. What are the goals of history teaching?5pts. 

The goals of history teaching are the following; (1) Enhance critical thinking and
analytical skills, study of history involves sorting out those facts to create coherent systems
of understanding the human experience. (2) enhance writing and communication skills,
History courses emphasize writing and communication skills that prepare the student to
express her/his views cogently and logically. (3) acquaint students with the basic tools of
interpretation, (4) develop student awareness of the diversity and complexity of human
social, cultural, political, and economic institutions.
