A. Learning Objectives
Through a Discovery Learning model, students are expected to:
 Express hopes and wishes to others,
 Congratulate others on their fortunes and achievements

B. Learning Steps
Preliminary Activities (10 Minutes)
1. The teacher opens the learning activity by saying greetings and prayers.
2. The teacher asks how he is and checks the attendance of students.
3. The teacher conveys the learning objectives to be achieved.
4. The teacher provides apperception and motivation
5. The teacher conveys the scope of the material, learning steps, and assessment techniques
Core Activities (60 Minutes)
Learning Activities
1. Students are given motivation or stimulation to remember what happened between teachers and school members
when greeting in English.
2. With the teacher's guidance and direction, students ask and question, among other things, the difference between the
expressions of congratulations and hopes, as well as their responses in English and those in Indonesian, the possibility
of using other expressions, etc.
3. With the guidance and direction of the teacher, students identify the characteristics (social function, text structure, and
language elements) of the interaction of expressions of congratulations, hopes, and responses.
4. Students try to use English to express hopes and wishes to other and to congratulate others on their fortune and
achievements, as well as responses, in the context of learning, simulation, roleplay, and other structured activities.
5. Students compare various expressions of congratulations, hopes, and responses that have been collected from the
various information above.
6. Students are able to find the elements of the news they listen to. (4C = Collaboration)
7. Students write news headlines according to the elements of the news text found while listening to the tutorial video.
8. Students draw conclusions about the tutorial video. (HOTS)
9. Students present the results of work in front of the class. (4C = communication)
10. Other students are given the opportunity to submit their responses.
Closing Activities (10 Minutes)
1. Teachers and students convey conclusions and reflections on learning.
2. The teacher provides feedback and moral messages from learning.
3. The teacher gives assignments to students.
4. The teacher delivers the next learning material.
5. The teacher closes the learning activity by saying greetings and prayers.
