Learning languages

On a personal level, learning a second language is cruical, because it opens doors to new
careers and employment opportunities. English is spoken nearly all countries, thats why it’s
really important to improve our skills in it.

I study English and German in the school. I have been learning them for many years now. I
started German 4 years ago as a complete beginner and I’m almost on the same level today.

I consider myself to be a good language learner, at least I am good at English I can say. To tell
the truth I hate it, when I’m forced to study. I don’t really like the lessons in the school,
because these are boring for me. The problem is not the teacher’s teaching method, but me.
I am said to be talented in languages, the teachers always told me I have a special sense for
them. I enjoy when I’m alone, and I can watch English-speaking movies individually and I can
understand most of what is said. I usually read English books in my freetime as well.

However, studying in a group also has some advantages. You can work on your active
vocabulary. We used to practice a lot in this way in the elementary school. Everyone is on
different level in the group, so friends can tell you new words and useful sentences. But
nothing can teach you more, than the films, when you hear native speakers.

All in all, I prefer to study languages individually.
