Lesson Reflection 1

This lesson was about teaching English and the learning outcomes are read soft th-words and
write soft th-words. For these learning outcomes, I put on pictures start with soft th words and I
say the sound of this digraph for the students.

In the introduction, welcome the students then I will choose one student to read the distance
learning and cybersecurity, after that I will choose other students to read how we stay safe? Then
I will choose other student to read website and online safety tips. I will ask the students what is
today? What is the date today? What is the month? Ask the students if they prepare their
materials for the lesson, I will put on song of sound, I will send link for live worksheet to
practice their digraphs. In active engagement, I will put on the board 3 sentences and let the
students read these sentences, ask the students what we are going to learn? I will show the
students 4 pictures start with soft th sound and I will read it for them to know the sound of the
letter, I will show the students sentences include th word and let them read it. I will tel the
students to open the book page 49 in activity 1 I will say the sound of th and read th words. In
activity 2 I will ask the students to answer by yes or no according to what I say. In activity 3 I
will tell the students to write the missing words. In activity 4 I will let the students practice the th
tongue twister. In formative assessment and closing, I will put an exit ticket question about what
sound did we learn today? And the second question will be open ended question they have to
write some words that they learn today. At the end the students will assess them self about their
understanding of the lesson.

The students were knowing the sound of the letter. I used this prior understanding of students to
improve it by let them read words and sentences including th digraph.
I think the students was responded on the lesson and they war active and answering the
questions. Some students need more time on the activities to solve it.
The lesson meets my teaching goals by reading soft th-words and writing soft th-words.
I will prepare for the lesson more in future and I will put the slide on the right order. Use
different formative assessment method. Model the activities for the students. Engaging students
in to the lesson are important to attract their attention and let them want to learn new thing.
