REACTION PAPER ABOUT THE CASE OF JENNIFER LAUDE

Jeffrey “Jennifer” Laude was born on November 4, 1987 a 26-year-old Filipina trans woman. She was
engaged to a German fiance Marc Sueselbeck and would have married in 2015. But last October 11,
2014, while having a drink with her friend Mark Clarence “Barbie” Gelviro at the Ambyanz Disco on
Magsaysay Drive in Olongapo City, she met a foreigner and both agreed to go to a motel with her
friend to tagged along. Later that night Jennifer was found dead naked in the bathroom of a motel
room called Celzone Lodge in Olongapo City, neck blackened with strangulation marks and head
submerged into a toilet. The man who allegedly left her was the 19-year-old Private First Class Joseph
Scott Pemberton, a member of the U.S Marine Corps Second Battalion-9th Marines of the West Pacific
Express, who claimed to be unaware that Laude was transgender.

The case of Jennifer Laude was a huge case way back in October 2014, the Laude family counsel was
Harry Roque who fought to imprison the man who killed Jennifer. My honest opinion about the case
is that, Laude should not be with another man because she’s engaged, that’s already cheating, and to
her friend who was with her that night, she should not tolerate Jennifer to do such thing as cheating.
And to Pemberton who claimed that he is unaware that Laude was a transgender, well how is that an
excuse? Gay panic? Trans panic? Is sexuality is a big deal to kill someone? Even though Laude is not
reveal her own identity, that’s not an excuse to kill someone, Pemberton reason is not acceptable. 6
years is not enough to pay for the sin he committed, and then President Rodrigo Duterte grants a
pardon to the criminal who kill in brutally manner, he has not even serve his maximum penalty yet, he
did not go through usual procedure because he did not even apply for pardon. President Duterte said
that he grants pardon because Pemberton not treated fairly, why? Is Jennifer treated her well? That’s
unfair. Criminal should be punish, Pemberton should pay for the sin he committed, he’s not even a
person he’s a monster.

REACTION PAPER ABOUT THE CASE OF JANG LUCERO

Jingle “Jang” Lucero was born on February 14, 1986 a 34-year-old woman who work as a part time
driver, after losing her original job due to COVID-19 pandemic. But on last June 28, 2020 her body was
found inside her own car which was parked at Bucal Bypass Road in Barangay Maunong in Clamba City
Laguna. She sustained 52 stabs wounds on her chest and at the portion of her back. The Police
believed her last client is responsible for the attack.

This case went viral on social media because of the brutal death of Jang, there are many
speculations about the real suspect, the police said that it was a crime of passion, because the
reason of killing is “Love” and also the crime is planned according to them. There are three or
more person of interest, but the authorities refuse to give their names due to confidentiality,
but one of those is Anne Shiela Belarmino which was the Ex girlfriend of Meyah Amatorio who
was the girlfriend of the victim. But Belarmino released due to insufficient evidence. My honest
opinion about this crime, I think the suspect was very intelligent and knowledgeable about the
crime she or he planning, the suspect knows how to deceive the authorities and the people
around them, and then I came up with this idea from the news I’ve watched, that the girlfriend
of the victim was the one who kill Jang. Meyah kill Jang because there’s a picture appear that
jang and meya were together with other friends drinking that night before the incident
happened, the autopsy said that it was 5pm when Jang died, but how come she was able to
reply by 9pm, so it means that her girlfriend was the one who holds Jang’s account, and in 52
stabs how come that the jacket she was wearing has no holes in it or not even torn apart, and
the part that the blood in the vehicle was few even though that the weapon used was ice pick
the blood should be massive. And I think that Jang’s body found inside her own car in Laguna
was a alternated location or the secondary crime scene. The original location is somewhere, but
up to now, the case is unsolved and the identities of the suspect was unidentified, because the
evidence was insufficient. The Jang Lucero case was still a mystery.
