RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS

The specifications and results of the design will be discussed in this chapter. The

problems stated in Chapter 1 will also be answered in this chapter.

4.1 Results

The tables below show the results of the experimentation done for the Leaf

Waste Blending mulcher using its designated formulas.

4.2 Discussions

Problem 1. What are the design specifications of the Leaf Waste Blending

Mulcher?

The design specifications of the Leaf Waste Blending Mulcher is that it could process

the mulching of various tree leaves that are found around the home or community.

Since the leaves have varied sizes and shapes, the design must be able to work with

the process given the variations. The design must also cater at least or more than the

minimum amount of 20kg of collected leaf waste per week. Finally, the design must use

affordable and local materials that are easily available.

 Problem 2. Would the Leaf Waste Blending Mulcher handle the collection of

dry leaf waste as stated to its design?

The Leaf Waste Blending Mulcher was designed to process the observed amount of

collected dry leaf waste. In this sense, the Leaf Waste Blending Mulcher can handle the

amount of at least or more than 20kg of leaf waste per each operation.

Problem 3. How much cost for fabrication will the design need?

The researchers concluded a rough estimate of Php 1,000 for the development of the

design of the Leaf Waste Blending Mulcher.

Problem 4. Is the design appropriate for a household setting?

As the design is inspired to answer one of the existing issues that is faced by local

residents who happen to have trees and plants around their home, the machine is then

designed to fit the needs, location, and appropriateness of each and every household.

Problem 5. Is the design easy to operate and handle?

The machine is designed to be easily handled and operated since the main people that

will benefit from this are household owners that want to explore new ways to use leaf

waste. The materials and dimensions are also made for the household owners also as

well as other persons concerned in this study.. On the other hand, the machine did not

complicate the design of the Leaf Waste Blending Mulcher which makes it easier to

maneuver.
