EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

PAKISTAN INDUSTRY ANALYSIS OF CLOTHING


With a 46 percent share of total manufacturing, clothing is considered the most important sector

of Pakistan's economy and the largest industry. The value of this sector is shown by the fact that
it accounts for 67 percent of exports, employs 40% of the workforce, and accounts for 10.20
percent of GDP. Despite being the world's fourth largest cotton producer, Pakistan has a good
spinning and weaving infrastructure. Clothing is a major growing sub-sector of the textile value
chain. It consumes the majority of the workforce in Pakistan’s clothing and garments industry
and has been contributing towards the high growth-rate in exports as figures shows it is 67%
contributing in export of Pakistan.

Clothing is a rapidly expanding sub-sector of the textile industry. It employs the majority of
Pakistan's workforce in the clothing and garments industry and has contributed to the country's
high growth rate in exports, as evidenced by the fact that it accounts for 67 percent of Pakistan's
exports.

The activities in Pakistan's clothing industry have changed as a result of globalization. The
fashion industry today is based on the international design world's emerging dynamism and
energy. Fashion designers who are creative and imaginative grow to become global brand icons,
media personalities, industry stalwarts, or, eventually, celebrated images symbolizing the era's
unique look, feel, and attributes. Pakistan's design and fashion industry has steadily expanded
into a multibillion-dollar industry, with Pakistan emerging as a major player. Pakistan's culture,
traditions, clothing, style, techniques, and uniqueness have inspired world fashion and continue
to do so. Pakistan is the fourth largest producer of cotton and has a high level of raw material
self-sufficiency. Pakistan's clothing and textile industries have progressed towards
industrialization due to the abundant use of cotton resources. Pakistan's economy has always
been based on low-cost labor. The country's manufacturing and agricultural sectors benefit from
a cheap and plentiful labor supply.

PROBLEM

The problem we have identified is that there is lack of respectable jobs for uneducated women.
In some areas they are not allowed to go out, to work and to earn their living. Women who have
children are unable to earn a significant living and widows are confided to their homes.
Especially in our culture financially independent women are not accepted and looked down
upon. Also, Pakistan needs more business generation to boost its economy

OUR IDEA:

Our Idea is to:

 Launch Online clothing brand (HunarKash) to empower women.


 Provide employment to women at their homes and give them chance to show their skills
and talent. Our approach is to do reverse discrimination with majority by providing
employment to the women and to create long term impact on their lives.

WHAT IS HUNARKASH:

Hunarkash will be an online clothing store which will offer stylish eastern clothing line for
women. The main idea behind Hunarkash is to generate profit by providing platform for all the
skilled woman of Pakistan who want to do something on their own.

HunarKash is for women from women, it is a brand which will empower women by providing
them employment at their homes. We will provide them all the resources they need at their
homes, and they will provide as the final product that is stitched clothes for our online store. We
will pay them on monthly basis for the services they will be providing us.

Production Process Flow OF HUNARKASH

The process of women dress stitching starts with the selection of design that we develop with
our partners. Based on the design, fabric, laces and other designing materials are purchased and
sent to the stitching master. The fabric is stitched by using stitching machine.

After the completion of stitching process, inspection of quality and design is carried out.
Afterwards, photo-shoot of each dress is carried out. Then, the pictures of each dresses are
uploaded on social media pages.

PURPOSE OF THIS PROPOSAL
The purpose of this proposal is to Pitch an idea of Hunarkash and to explain what Hunarkash is
about so that we can get investment from the investors to establish this business. Also, at initial
stage we will not be having profit margin so we will be needing money to pay our employees.

SCOPE
We are initiating this brand to help uneducated women to earn their livings themselves. These
could also be women who have sewing skills but are restricted from leaving their homes for
employment. Hence our brand will be helping such women to secure an employment. The brand
will serve female customers by providing clothing solutions to them at a very affordable price.

TARGET MARKET:

The potential buyers for our clothing brand would be females ranging from age group 18 years
and above who belong to middle and upper-middle class backgrounds. These will be the women
who prefer to buy affordable clothing which have unique and beautiful designs. Initially the
brand would target only the females residing in Karachi city, however, going forward we plan to
expand the brand across the country.

INVESTMENT:

We need to raise an investment of PKR 100,000 for this Business. Breakup of investment
utilization is as follows:

 Purchasing of Raw Material and resources

 Marketing and promotion Expense
 Transportation Expense

RESOURCES

Raw Materials

The raw materials which include cloth, laces, buttons, needle, thread and any other designing
material will be bought from wholesale markets like those of Ranchor lines and Naseem Cloth
Market, where the largest variety exists at a very lower price.

Sewing Machine

The lady we will hire for this purpose will be using her own sewing machine.

Packaging Material:

All material required for packaging the finished product will be bought from Paper Market
located in Saddar.

Transport:

We will outsource the delivery of the products to a delivery providing service such as Leopard.

MARKETING PLAN:

Starting off we will be utilizing social media as our main marketing channel but moving
forward we will also be incorporating the following means of marketing too:

• Paid advertisement on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram

• Through Trade shows or exhibitions

• Collaboration with influencers from social media for promotion and to create awareness
of our brand

• Promotion through text messages and mails or database Marketing

• Personal Selling which includes collaboration with local shops to sell our product or their
and keep their commission.
