Nartuo Analysis

The shows Naruto and Naruto Shippuden written by Japanese manga writer Masashi

Kishimoto tell a story about Naruto Uzumaki. Naruto is a young ninja who dreams of becoming

the Hokage, the leader of his village and the strongest ninja. The main character of the story,

Naruto, is a young noisy, restless kid whose biggest dream is to become Hokage but is rejected

by everyone in the village because there is an evil demon sealed inside of him. He has no family

members alive to take care of him, so he is essentially an orphan. The fact that he grew up on his

own makes him want to seek acceptance from the people around him. Naruto’s story is not as

easy as it seems however, he has to overcome all of the obstacles that come in his way such as

ninja exams, various missions as well as battles. Naruto’s journey begins with his 2 teammates

Sakura and Sasuke as well as their captain, Kakashi Hatake who’s going to help him become an

official ninja and reach his goal of becoming the Hokage.

The plot of the Naruto series begins with the ninja Naruto living in a village called

Konoha with a socio-political setting very similar to today’s world. In their ninja world however,

there are many small sized states that develop and live independently. Within those states are

hidden ninja villages at their disposal, each led by an independent ruler, a Kage, which resembles

a lot to Hokage. There are many supernatural phenomenon that happen over the course of the

story but the there is a strong focus on 9 supernatural beings. These beings are often called

demons or destructors of villages but their real titles are the tailed beasts. In the show, the

characters are shown to fear these mystical beings. There are a total of 9 tailed beasts who have

great amounts of power within them. The beasts’ power is measured by their number of tails, so

if a demon had one more tail than the other, then you could assume that they are stronger, which

leads to many conflicts.

Additionally, the tailed beasts take different forms of animals and insects. In the Naruto

story, the demons are seen as weapons of destruction. These beings are evil and have a strong

hatred towards ninja or even humans in general. They often attack or destroy anything that seems

to be in their way. In order to control these beasts, they must be sealed inside of a human body

with a special seal. This practice is used to take use of their powers. Once a demon is sealed

inside of a human, the person gains power from it. However, not everyone is capable of holding

an evil demon spirit inside of them, the people that have had demon’s sealed inside of them are

called Jinjuriki and must have strong power and will because the demon inside of them will try

to take over their body and break the seal. These demons are also sealed for their power, the

different ninja villages use them as a way to protect themselves from attacks or even use them to

attack other villages they are at war with.

Furthermore, the Naruto series is complex with psychological and even social benefits to

the viewers. The main character, Naruto, has this saying “I wont go back on my word… that is

my ninja way”. Many people can learn from this quote because it teaches them to not run away

from their problems and face them even if it seems impossible, because everything can be done

if the right amount of work and effort is put in. It also shows us to never give up on our dreams

no matter the judgement you receive from others. Just like Naruto because he never gave uo and

got what he wanted with hard work and dedication. The story brings hope to its audience because

it’s message is essentially that no matter how hard your life is, you must never give up. Instead,

you should thrive forward with hard work and eventually see your desired outcome. The overall

message conveyed from the story is that even if you came from nothing and didn’t have what

other have, everything is still possible if you have the heart to fight for it.

In conclusion, the series shows us many different supernatural beings that are seen as

demons. It also depicts how demons are typically known for destruction and havoc. In addition

to this, it shows us that the ninjas don’t see the demons as creatures but more as weapons of

destruction because their world revolves around conflict. Finally, the main character of the show,

Naruto Uzumaki, shows us that if you fight your own demons inside of you, you can achieve

greatness.
