Activity 1: Reflective Essay

At this current situation where we are experiencing pandemic, how can dance may help
you and/or your family to lessen the impact of quarantine or isolation? Elaborate your answer.
(15points)

Many healthy people are asked to stay in their own quarantine at home. Fitness centers and
other places in my own countries where people are normally working are closed temporarily.
Staying at home for a long time can pose a major challenge to stay physically active.
Sedentary behavior and low physical activity can adversely affect people's health, well-being
and quality of life. Additional stress and challenge to citizens' mental health can be caused by
self-quarantine. Physical activity and relaxation techniques can be useful tools to help you stay
calm while maintaining health. As the pandemic continued, people found innovative ways to
unite. There have been gratitude dances, mask dances and dances connecting people to
dance their blues away. Art goes beyond all barriers and limits. There is no race with art, no
religion, no age or color; only rhythmic happiness. A joy that combines diversity and has the
power to combine people in one voice. The present Covid-19 pandemic is enough to inhibit
even the strongest, but dance with its unique power already serves as a useful means of hope
and positive attitude to relieve the world that is perceived to be struggling under a massive
cloud of uncertainty and darkness.

Given the different dance categories, what would you like to engage in this time of pandemic
and why? (10points)

There's a lot of dance from ballroom dance to barn dance and disco dance to Morris dance. It
has always included dance and rituals, celebration and human culture. The main thing to do
today is to relax and express oneself, although this can also be done as a competitive activity..
Dancing is a pleasant way to become more active and fit.
