I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content
The learner demonstrates understanding of dance in optimizing one’s health; as requisite for physical activity assessment performance, and as a career opportunity.

The learner leads dance events with proficiency and confidence resulting in independent pursuit and in influencing others positively.

C. MELC Self-assesses health-related fitness (HRF). Status, barriers to physical activity assessment participation and one’s diet;
Engages in moderate to vigorous physical activities (MVPAs) for at least 60 minutes most days of the week in a variety of settings in- and out-of school;
Analyzes physiological indicators such as heart rate, rate of perceived exertion and pacing associated with MVPAs to monitor and/or adjust participation or effort;
Observes personal safety protocol to avoid dehydration, overexertion, hypo- and hyperthermia during MVPA participation; and
Demonstrates proper etiquette and safety in the use of facilities and equipment.

III. PROCEDURES
A. Introduction Background of the Lesson/ Chapter
Physical education is the earliest form of education known to human beings. Learning how to move is vital for one’s survival. Learning the most basic functions such as turning over, sitting
up, crawling, standing, walking, and running are but a few of the essential skills that a child has to learn. Growing up, a variety of more complex movement skills must be acquired. In the
primitive era, one must learn the skills of hunting and gathering food, of looking for shelter, as well as defending’s one territory. The desire for propagation and mating is said to have been

Dance is an expression of the body, following rhythmic patterns, and is usually accompanied by music. From the primitive man expressing emotions in such events as birth, death,
marriage, war, among other things, dance has evolved to modern forms of social dancing. These are the different forms of dance:
