Assessment procedure analysis (E-task)

Theoretical foundations of the program: PIFLE level 4 course. Socio-cognitive approach to language teaching and learning (individual and
social). Communicative competence: it does not only focus on knowledge and skills but also socio-cultural aspects.
Teaching approach: TBLT/EGAP
Assessment system: The assessment system includes SCORM-packages (automatically graded), exams, rubrics, portfolio, forums.

E-Task 2: Encounters

1. Title: Minority groups in Colombia

3. Product: Each pair of students will write a newspaper article about a minority community including demographic and geographic
information, language, food, clothing and traditions (celebrations and customs).
4. Resources and input: Input presented in previous actions: an animated video titled “Diversity in the university” in which two college
students talk about an indigenous students they know; two online articles, one about the situation of indigenous communities in Colombia, and
the second one about Afro-Colombians; and a podcast about the impact of the Afro-Colombian culture in the country.
5. Actions:
• Choose a classmate to work with.
• Select a candidate of a minority community to write about.
• Make a mind map about your ideas for the article including demographic and geographic information; language, food and clothing; and
traditions (celebrations and customs).
• Write the article using proper citation and adequate sources.
• Publish the mind map and the article in the Main e-Task Submission and Scoring section.
6. Delivery Protocol:
Format the mind map using an appropriate Web 2.0 tool and the article in a Word file and publish them.
