CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAM-NARRATIVE REPORT

Career Pathing (03/30/2021)

Career planning is a great way to ensure your career is going in the right direction.Not
only does it help you realise your passion, it also facilitates your career goals with tangible
actions and aims. At the very least, it'll help you to answer career goal questions at your next
interview.
By assessing your situation, you'll additionally be able to determine and fill any gaps in your
knowledge or experience that might be holding you back from your dream job.Career
planning is the self-evaluation & planning done by a person to have a strong career path.
Career planning process in the continuous reiterative process of understanding oneself,
setting career goals, revising skills and searching for the right career options.

As part of the ongoing K-12 Curriculum of the Department of

Education (DepEd), the Career Guidance Advocacy Program aims to inform and
fullypreparestudentsontakingdifferentcareers.The program serves as a guide for students
in making decisions on takingthe appropriate path for their given skills and knowledge. In
line with this, several activities were prepared for the students – one of which is
“What is Success?”. The said activity allows the students to define ‘s ucces s ’ in their
ow n w ords ins ide a s mall box draw n. A fterw ards , the students shared their own
definition of success within their schoolmates. I n t h e s a m e m o d u l e , t h e s t u d e n t s
w e r e a l s o a s k e d t o d r a w a s y m b o l signifying their self and the career path that
they would take.
The students also answer the RIASEC assessment. . RIASEC test results were used
to match students up with appropriate career choices, which are determined by their abilities,
interests, and traits. Educators assist with RIASEC test interpretation and put the student on a
path toward a career they’re best suited for.
A RIASEC assessment is unlike any other standardized test a student will take throughout
their academic life. There are no right or wrong answers, and students can take as long as
they need to complete it. The only requirement is that students are as honest as they can be
with their answers. This is incredibly important, as being anything less than truthful can lead
a student down the wrong career path.
Results from a RIASEC assessment can help identify the ideal types of careers for the
individual student, based on John Holland’s six personality types.
