BODY

INSTRUCTIONS
TIPS
MAKE IT STAND

To enable the bunny to stand, after finishing stuffing you will need to
use the yarn tail as follows:
Thread the yarn in a needle, insert the needle down through the
body and through the bottom of the body just next to the Magic
Ring (MR).
Reinsert the needle through the MR centre and through the body,
pulling the MR slightly up towards the neck until the bottom is
indented (see photos below). Keeping tension, insert the needle
through the MR centre again then back up towards the neck.
Knot the thread into the side of the neck to anchor the bottom of
the bunny but take care not to misshape or distort the neck. Sew Fun facts
the leftover yarn through the stuffing a couple of times to hide Lionhead rabbits:
the yarn then cut. Weave in the yarn end. 1. It was only since 2002 that the
Lionhead rabbit was acknowledged
as a recognised breed in the UK
and 2014 in the US.
2. Some have single mane, some have
double mane.
3. They are very sociable and should
be kept in pairs.
4. They can learn to do tricks with
clicker training

ASSEMBLY

Use sewing pins, fix all the parts in position first to make sure you are happy
with how Robbie will look. Take out the pins on his body, and sew the pieces
together in the following order:
Eyes: Use sewing pins to mark the eyes. Embroider the eyes last. See next page
for detail.
Head: Sew the head to body first. Use sewing pins to fix the head in position
before sewing, sewing stitches to go behind the collar (round 30 of body)
(Optional: Position the head slightly tilted on one side.)
Ears: Sew ears to the head between round 1 and 3. One ear is lying flat and the
other ear is straight up. Use pins to fix the ears in position before sewing. I sew
the straight ear first. Join the flat ear to head at the bottom of ear. See photo.
Manes: Sew yellow main in first, then cream mane. Sewing stitches go behind of
the mane. The ends of the yellow mane are at the top of head, the ends of the
cream mane are underneath the chin.
Feet: Embroider the feet using cream yarn. 12 - 13 stitches apart. See next page.
Use sewing pins to mark where
Nose: Embroider the nose a round below the eyes, 3 stitches wide.
you want the eyes and nose
Tail: Make a pom pom in cream/yellow. Attach to the side of bunny. before sewing the mane to head

Sew along the bottom of Mane: To go in front of ears. Using back stitches to sew. Sew cream mane after. The
the flat ear Yellow mane ends are at the top near the ears. ends meet underneath the
chin.

EYES

INSTRUCTIONS
Use black lace yarn to embroider the eyes at round 15 - 17, 7 or 8 stitches away from each other, 3 stitches
wide and sew the eye lash at the end. Use pins to mark the eyes like the 1st photo.
Start off from back of the head, needle to come out of one corner of the eye.
Use marking pins, mark the shape of eyes. Wrap black thread to form the eye to check if you are
happy before sewing. Remove the pins at the top and the other corner of eye.
Insert needle through bottom corner of eye, needle coming out of the side of eye (middle photos).
Insert the needle in the same hole it comes out of to form a loop around the eye line to secure its
position. Gently pull tight. Embroider the eye lash in the far corner.
Go round the eye lid two or three times to make it look thicker than the eye lash(es).
Use the end of the tail to embroider the eyebrows 5-6 rounds above the eyes, 3 stitches wide, 7
stitches apart.

FEET

Embroider the feet at the bottom of the bunny body using yellow yarn. 12- 13 stitches apart. The
widest part of each foot is 3 stitches.
