GUL AHMED In the early 1900s, the company started selling textiles. In all of
its expertise and knowledge. In the year 1953, Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Ltd. was
founded as a private limited company. It was then listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange
in 1972. Since then, the business has expanded exponentially and is now one of the
country's best composite textile houses. The mill is currently operating in Karachi on
eight units, with a total capacity of 130,296 spindles, 223 large width air jet looms, and a
cutting-edge wet processing and finishing unit.

gul Ahmed's fine textiles are a one-of-a-kind combination of the east's century-old
practices and the west's cutting-edge textile manufacturing. Cotton fibers grown in the
fertile lands of the Indus Valley are spun, woven, and refined into the highest quality
cotton and blended fabrics using a mix of cutting-edge technology, traditional skills, and
craftsmanship of this traditional industry.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

Organizational structure can be described in a variety of ways:

 They can describe the types of management in an organisation.

 Organizational processes describe job relationships.

 They describe the decision-making centers of every organisation.

 They help in the achievement of organizational objectives by grouping jobs,

establishing relationships between roles, and identifying who is responsible for
what in the organization.
ORGANIZATIONAL DESIGN:
 Organization design" can be characterized as the method of restructuring an
organization's framework and responsibilities, or it can be interpreted more
generally as the alignment of configuration, process, incentives, metrics, and
talent with a company's plan.

 An organization's design encompasses much more than the boxes on a map and
the lines that link them. It's the programs, structures, and processes that help
people get things done, and it has a lot of power over how organizations behave
and produce results.
ORGANIZATION ORGANOGRAM:

Company Operations:

Gul Ahmed is a group of composite mills that produce anything from wool to finished
goods. The manufacturing units have been decentralized into the following units in order
to attain and sustain high quality control and a strict emphasis on specialization:

 SPINNING
 WEAVING
 PRETREATMENT, PRINTING, DYEING, FINISHING
 DESIGN AND STYLE
 HEMMING – HOUSE HOLD TEXTILE
 QUALITY CONTROL

Gulahmed have a very good and efficient supply chain management, and have a range of
major components of the Textile Industry, such as Cotton, Yarn, Gray, Dyes &
Chemicals, Spare Parts, Packing Material, Stitching Accessories, General Products, and
so on.
They provide a very straightforward process for procuring the aforementioned products.
Cotton is a very unique commodity that trades and fluctuates on a regular basis, so
forward sourcing from manufacturers is undertaken to prevent stock out situations. They
ordered our cotton based on orders from export and local retail stores. The Yarn and the
Gray procurement follow the same method.
Dyes and chemicals are mostly imported, and we work with globally known suppliers
such as BASF, Clariant, Dystar, Stork, and others. These are high-quality suppliers that
have already been recommended by respected customers. For local purchases such as
additives, packing material, and general products, we obtain quotes from various vendors
and review each one in addition to price negotiations. After a supplier has been accepted,
they tour the plant and see whether any child labor or envoi mental violations are taking
place. They aspire to uphold our reputation as a high-quality provider for our customers.
Transportation.
Transportation is used for a variety of uses, and uses a combination of in-house and
outsourced transportation services. They used own transportation to supply to our retail
outlets in Karachi and other cities, and have transport contractors for different locations
for cloth and yarn movement inside the different units. They don't have a single
contractor to discourage the monopoly.

Inventory Management:
Inventory is a large part of our financial statements, but they make an extra effort to keep
it in good shape to ensure a seamless flow of output. They have a fully functional
inventory transfer scheme called "Inventory Management." For calculating the prices of
each individual item, they use the weighted average inventory method. However, they
continue to use FIFO for the distribution of inventory to various units.
Pricing:
In terms of local and export pricing, there is a bit of mishmash. For export orders, they
use Total Cost Plus pricing, which means they do pre-order costing based on a customer-
approved sample and give it to them for approval. Still have market-based pricing for
local. They face competition in the local market as well, with several brands competing,
so they evaluate the market before pricing the product.
Distribution:
Local and export orders have separate distribution channels they have their own
transportation for sale to retail outlets in Karachi, but they have contracts with
transporting companies to supply to other outlets outside Karachi. In the case of export,
they ship directly to the consumer. The customer's requested shipping dates and location.
