IMPORTANCE OF ICT IN EDUCATION

Today we do not need to go any further than our own home or even room, to
see some form of ICT in our lives. Whether it be a computer, plasma TV, or mobile
phone, we all have them in some part of our lives. In today’s society, people as
consumers of ICT, all strive for the one dream – the dream of a connected life.
This makes ICT a lifestyle choice for much of the population. In addition, this
lifestyle choice is changing the way we communicate, increasing the rate of
consumerism, and changing how we interact and gather information.
ICT has invaded and transformed many aspects of our lives to the extent that
we live in an environment that is dominated by technology which itself is consumer-
driven. No matter how we perceive its presence, there is no denying that it is an
important part of our lives and that it is here to stay.
ICT is very important in our life specially for teachers and learners. Due, to this
pandemic, teachers were required to submit their MOV’s for Work from Home through
the use of internet. They are also required to make their Individual Accomplishment
Report and to be submitted online. Even though, there is pandemic crisis, it did not
stop us to continue the education process.
Teachers attended different trainings online. There are different trainings that
are being offered to us. Through this virtual training, teachers gained and achieved
knowledge on how to face the challenges that we have encountered in during the
pandemic.
One of the most usable forms during this pandemic is the Google Forms.
Google Forms is a web-based app used to create forms for data collection purposes.
Students and teachers can use Google Forms to make surveys, quizzes, or event
registration sheets. The form is web-based and can be shared with respondents by
sending a link, emailing a message, or embedding it into a web page or blog post.
Data gathered using the form is typically stored in a spreadsheet. Although there are
other online survey apps, Google Forms is an excellent free option.
Google Forms lets you and your students collect data using multiple methods.
A form can be included in the body of an email allowing a respondent to submit their
responses from their Inbox. A link can be generated allowing respondents to answer
the questions using a web-based form. Code can be generated and then embedded
into a blog or web page as another option for data collection. As well, if a paper/pencil
method is preferred the form can be converted into a PDF file using Google Chrome.
