Inhaling means taking in oxygen.
Exhaling means releasing carbon dioxide.

Aim: To find out whether exhaled air contains carbon dioxide.
Materials required:
A straw
A test tube
Colourless calcium hydroxide solution.
Method:
Put some colourless calcium hydroxide solution into a test tube.
Then bubble the exhaled air into the test tube as shown in the figure.

Colourless calcium hydroxide changes into off white.
Conclusion:
Exhaled air contains carbon dioxide.
