Dissolving ink Experiment

Problem: Why does ink diffuse quickly in hot water but slowly in cold?

Objective: to Explane Why does ink diffuse quickly in hot water but slowly in cold, to
explain some application aboat diffusion

Materials:
2 Cups(or glass cvps)

Water(hot and cold)

Steering materials(anything)

Vinegars

Hypothsis:
Ink diffusing through water. The glass on the left contains hot water, while the glass on the
right contains cold water. ink was added to the cold water slightly before the coloring was added
to the hot water, yet after a few seconds it has diffused more thoroughly through the hot water.

Procedure:
1. Put hot and cold water in the cups
2. Then pour ink in the cold water next un hot water
3. Observe
4. Mix the ink in water(steering) both
5. Pour vinegar in hot water

Observation:
. Ink to become invisible in warm water. Vinegar make ink optically visible. When we add a
drop of ink into the cold water, the ink is mixed with it by means of diffusion - dispersion of
particles of ink ingredients in the water. The warm water diffusion occurs faster
Conlusion:

Ink diffuses in water because of the random motion of water and ink molecules.
The warm water diffusion occurs faster because the particles have more energy,
and the spaces between them are larger (more easily with each other squeeze).

Ink appear when putting vinegar because ink contains different chemical liquids
which if exposed to heat those liquids break down means separate until some
chemical mix(vinegar) make them visible.
