The first artifact that I chose is a paper called “Poverty and Mental Illness.” I wrote this
paper at the end of my senior year of high school. I chose this paper as an example of my lack of
organization skills. Although I had good ideas and I was able to get it all on paper, it is evident in
the paper that I struggled to organize my ideas and thoughts. This paper had to be eleven pages.
Although it was a topic that I am passionate about, I still found myself struggling to organize
everything that I wanted to say. I enjoyed writing this paper, but I wish my organization skills
were better.
The second artifact that I chose as an example is the paper that I wrote this semester. It
was called “My America.” I was proud of this paper as the organization skills had improved.
This is a good example of a paper that I was passionate about and was able to organize well. I am
proud of how this paper turned out and I plan to keep improving my papers to be more like this
in the future.
The third artifact that I want to share is called “My Dream.” I also wrote this paper this
semester. Although I enjoyed writing this paper, I feel that it lacks organization skills, good
ideas, and a lack of evidence. I had to do more research for this paper. The research found was
good, but not enough. I feel as if I could have added more evidence to back up my claims.
Research is often hard for me as I get impatient. Overall, this paper was fun to write, but I could
wrote this paper my senior year of highschool in my history class. I enjoyed writing this paper
because it was something that I could relate to my life as a christian. Even though this paper is
short, I was able to give good evidence and had good organization skills. I was proud of this
essay. I was able to relate it to my life when writing it, which made me passionate about the
I have grown a lot as a person over the years, and it has indeed helped my writing skills.
All my trials in life have helped me the most. After dealing with something hard in life, I can
form an opinion or express feelings in papers about how that experience changed my life. This
has shaped my growth as a writer in many ways. I am a very passionate person and I love to
share my life with others. Writing has taught me how to express myself in an organized paper.
An example that I can give you is my passion for the mentally ill to receive better care in life.
Although I do not have a specific mental illness, I have watched others endure a mental illness. It
breaks my heart to watch people go through this. I have written about mental illness in most of
my papers. It is something that I am very passionate about and I will continue to write about it.
My writing process consists of writing it all on paper in the beginning and then
organizing it later. This allows me to get all my ideas on the paper and then make sure it looks
and sounds good. It has evolved a lot over the years. I have become a better writer overtime. I
have also grown to love writing more and more. If I had a toolbox, I would add better
I enjoy writing very much. Although I enjoy it, it can often be hard for me to organize my
papers. Overtime, I have gotten pretty good at getting my ideas on paper, but I struggle to
organize it. I also can struggle to find good research in some of my papers. I used to hate writing,
but I have grown to like it quite a bit. I am very happy with where I am today with my writing
and how far I have come. Although I have improved, I often still struggle to master my
organization skills. I have tried to work on this quite a bit in this class.
Next, I plan to write more and not just for class. I plan to write more letters in the future
because I have enjoyed that a lot in this class. I need to address my organization skills and find
more evidence rather than my own opinion. Research is something that I struggle with doing
because I have a strong opinion about most of my topics. I plan to write more about my passions
