WRITING RETREAT for Teaching & Learning Research @Ongegund, Sir Lowry’s Pass

5 – 8 November 2019

Your Teaching Matters

Stellenbosch University academics and professional staff interested in teaching and learning research and
innovation are invited to indicate interest in attending a residential off-campus opportunity. The programme
includes goal-setting and goal-achievement (compulsory on day 1 & 4), short optional input session (day 2),
free writing time and compulsory small group discussions (evenings).

A writing retreat:
 takes place in an atmosphere of trust and safety for productive writing;
 forms a multidisciplinary community where support is provided to one another;
 allows for exploration of the key links between teaching, learning, research, writing and scholarship;
 is aimed at productive working toward achieving a specific writing goal (Moore, 2003).

Ongegund Lodge Cancellation Policy
In the event of cancellation, the following rule applies:
Less than 5 working days prior to start: 100% cancellation fee (your department will be held liable)
The retreat is funded by the Skills Fund for university staff. The cost per person is approximately R5200 for 4
days. Kindly respect the privilege of this opportunity.
It would be appreciated if you brought a cash amount for Ongegund staff service fee.

Should my application be successful, I confirm my commitment to attend and stay-over. I acknowledge that
I am aware that I will be liable for expenses should I not cancel at least 1 week in advance.
