I am writing this letter on behalf of Kelli Allen. I have had the pleasure of working with Ms. Allen
throughout the 2017-2018 academic school year as her internship supervisor. During the time Ms. Allen
did her internship with the Department of Behavioral Health Services, she demonstrated the utmost
professionalism with staff and clients. Ms. Allen is extremely open to feedback from co-workers and
supervisors and always looks for ways to improve and build upon her professional abilities. What really
stood out to me about Ms. Allen is her genuine empathy and compassion for our clients while always
maintaining professional boundaries with them. Ms. Allen was always willing to talk to our clients, even
those clients with particularly difficult situations. She was always able to build rapport and provide
appropriate information and intervention to clients. Ms. Allen is truly an asset to the mental health
profession and a strong advocate for the substance abuse field. I am fully in support of Ms. Allen
furthering her career in the substance abuse field by advancing her education and obtaining licensure.
