Memo Writing Exercise:

1.At a recent presentation, your company’s CEO stated the company’s

intent to expand into the service sector. Currently, your company is

devoted exclusively to manufacturing. Of particular interest to your

supervisor, Tom Henry, were the following statements: “In all likelihood,

we will use some of our own product designers for service design. They

know our products and, besides, product design and service design are

pretty much the same.” Tom has asked you to look into this proposal.

Write him a halfpage memo indicating the circumstances under which

this proposal might work and those under which it might not.
Dear Mr Henry,

This is regarding to the proposal that was been discussed on the

company’s new expansion into the service sector.Personally being

elevated to be a part of this proposal, makes me share quite a few

scenarios which will benefit at the same time do harm to the company,

which the company will have to face while functioning in the service

sector. Considering your statement which you have been working lately.

In a matter that I will share some of my knowlegde in the service sector

which would give an impact for good or bad aggrievances.

Partaking in this agenda will make most viable. In the majority of

our product designers that will conduct the operation for your company’s

service design as it is likely favorable to us because it it our own product

designer’s they are already know what are the process of the company

and can adapt the environment without any worries in accordance that

they had some knowledge about it.Product designer’s doing the service

design will be fine work at ease but it might not work some people are

not adaptable for the new innovation which is the the weaknesses mostly.

As a worker of service design you know your limits and acting some big

changes can make stress and less productivity is the result.

 For the my true concern as a part of this proposal it maybe hard to

make a move in the expansion of service, but in the business big risk

makes best achievements. This company will try go to grow to compete

globally and provide a good design for the people that needed the most.

The expansion is not about all improvement but also learning how to be

creative and resourceful. The reason of being succesful company are the

failures they had experienced.

2.Suppose you have just received a memo questioning the merits of

remanufacturing, a proposed new approach to be used by your company.

The writer, Mary Barkley, a group leader in another department, is

skeptical. Write a half-page memo to Mary on the benefits of

remanufacturing.

Dear Mr. Barkley,

Good day! This is regarding for the liability of our company. It

was a dignifying pleasure to make amends in my own for the sake of

company’s appraisal. I will clarify some things by giving information to

you involving the matter of remanufactoring of our company. This was

plan and personally verified that our company has a capacity to pleased

you and will be trusted for the said proposal.

Since our company built it has a excellent service . The product

that we produce are highly innovated and attainable. We produced and

compete globally.A product or service design is best conducted as a

project by a team that is responsible for the product from the starting idea

to the end distribution. The team usually consists of a product

manager,product designers usually engineers are highly resourceful and

adaptable and manufacturing/operations representatives has good roles

they had contributed to the company. The team is expanded during each

phase of design with marketing repre-sentatives at the start and at the

end.Accountants to establish cost goals.Process engi-neers is for process

design,tooling/equipment,quality control,and purchasing and supplier

representatives of the component design and manufacturing. Services are

highly visible to consumers because there is customer contact. So it you

would to agree and accept this proposal. Our company will be delighted
