 Since, we have already discussed
about Giving the place value of each
digit in a 3-digit number. I hope that
you have learned to read and write 3-
digit numbers in symbols and in
words and now familiarize yourself to
another way of writing numbers.
- In 576, how many hundreds
are there?
- How many tens are there? - 500 or 5
- How many ones? hundreds
- And what is the value of 6? - 7 tens or 70
 The number 576 maybe written in tens
this way: - 6 ones or 6
576= 5 hundreds, 7 tens, 6 ones
- It can also be written as:
500+ 70+ 6= 576
 Write them in the place value chart.
And write them in expanded form.

with a 3-digit numbers on each fruit. Attach this to these to the
drawing and let the students harvest the fruits. Then students will be
going to model the numbers, write them in expanded form and
identify its value.
