Telephone is a device that transforms voice
into electrical signal so that people can
communicate over long distances. Telephones
have a number of parts. On the outside of the
handsets there is a mouthpiece, an earpiece, and

a keypad. Inside the mouthpiece is a microphone
which contains a plastic disk called diaphragm.
The earpiece contains a loudspeakers.
People talk to each other on the telephone
through the microphones in the handset. The
sound of the caller’s voice causes the diaphragm
to vibrate. As it vibrates, it generates an electrical
signal that passes down the telephone line to the
receiving telephone. When the receiving
telephone gets the signals, the diaphragm in the
earpiece loudspeakers also vibrates and creates
the sound of the person’s voice at the other end

My family of three went to see an early
screening of the new Disney movie, “Brave”
yesterday, so I thought I would write a quick
“mommy” review of the movie.
Disney definitely breaks the standard
“Disney Princess” mold with this movie as
Princess Merida is a fun, outgoing and wild girl
that for once is not in search for the love of a
prince, the characters in the movie are
entertaining and I loved the way that the Scottish
culture comes out in the movie. I found myself
wishing for mere music though, which is one of

things that I truly love about past Disney movies.
I would com pare this movie more with “Shrek”
than a movie like “Tangled”
As to the age of the kids that would like this
movie I would have to say maybe 5 years old and
up. The movie is not quite engaging enough for
very young viewers, which was a little
disappointing for our three years old. There were
parts of the movie that our daughter enjoyed, but
it is engaging enough for younger viewers in the
audience and made them cry, so be forewarned
of this if you are bringing children under the age
of five years old.
I’ve always been a big fan of Disney movies
so on a 5-star scale I would rate this 4-star
movie. It’s definitely not a favorite, but I give it
four stars for the relationship that build between
Merida and her mother. I think this offers a great
lesson to appreciate your family and truly listen
to each other needs and concerns.

There is a lot of discussion about whether
animals should be kept in 2006.
Some people claim that it is cruel because wild
animals need their freedom and like lots of
space.
They also argue that the British climate is
not suitable for many wild animals and they are
never completely healthy. A further point they
make is that they might just as well watch

against this point of view. Zoo owner argue that
they now make great efforts to make sure
animal are kept in a space similar to their own
environment. They say that animals can cope

The fish are dying in the Adirondack
lakes in northern New York State. Fishermen are
worried. This used to be a favorite spot for sport
fishing. But every year there are fewer fish.
Some lakes – 605 of them- now have no fish at
all. Scientists are beginning to get worried too.
What is killing the fish?
The cause of this is acid rain. Acid rain is
a kind of air pollution. It is caused by factories
that burn coal or oil or gas. These factories send
smoke high into the air. The wind often carries
the smoke far from the factories. Some of the
unhealthy things in the smoke may come down
with the rain hundreds of miles away. This is
what is happening in the Adirondacks. There are
many factories in the middle western state. They
are sending a lot of smoke into the air. The wind
blows the smoke towards the east. That means
towards New York State and the Adirondacks
area.
The rain in the Adirondacks is not natural
and clean any more. It is full of acid chemicals.
When it falls in lakes, it changes them too. The
lakes become more acidic. Acid water is like

your eyes. It also kills the plants and animals that

To Whom it may concern,
“Indonesian Idol” is an annual
Indonesian televised singing competition
which has been airing on RCTI. Part of the
Idol franchise, it originated from the British
reality program ‘Pop Idol”. “Indonesian
Idol” is a combination of a reality show and a
talent search show. Unfortunately, instead of
giving the opportunity to anyone who has
talent and capable to be promoted as an idol,
I find some weaknesses in this program.
Sometimes, the winner is not
guaranteed to have a quality of a good singer
because the winner is merely determined by
public voting by phone and sms “Indonesian
Idol”. Most of these voters do not consider
the jury’s comments on the contestant’s
performance because they would prefer
focusing on the contestant’s physical
appearance and personality rather than his/her
singing quality.
As a consequence, after the
competition is over, only few of the winner
get the chance to be professional singers.
Why is it so ? Because they don’t have great
skills to be professional singers. Furthermore,
most of them only have little experience in
the show business, while being professional
singers need a long process and time.
My suggestion is that “Indonesian
Idol” should determine the winner based on
the contestant’s popularity. The singing
quality of each contestant should be the first
priority.

Why do hawk hunt chicks?
