Greetings Tiger Family,

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of our fellow TSU Tiger, Marshawn Murphy. The
80th Administration of the Student Government Association would like to honor the memory of Mr. Marshawn
Murphy, and extend our deepest condolences and love to his family, friends, and our tiger family.

Marshawn Murphy was classified as a Sophomore at Tennessee State University. He was a Business
Administration Major from Chicago, Illinois. Marshawn was loved by many and was always a bright light to
anyone he came into contact with.

In dealing with loss, there is a huge amount of strain and emotion felt not just in individuals but in ripples
throughout the community. As we collectively mourn this great loss within our TSU community, I want to
remind you of the resources Tennessee State has readily available to help support you through this time. You

As we navigate our way through these difficult times, we must continue to actively love and support one
another. The 80th Administration of the Student Government Association will honor Marshawn Murphy's life
on January 28th at 6 PM via Zoom. More information in regard to this ceremony will be released soon.

Marshawn will forever be in our hearts! Psalms 30:5, For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is
life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
