1. Make learning notes of each Learning Activity in this module with a critical and
creative thinking approach.

Learning Activity 1

As we know there are many kinds of Short Functional Text. One of them is Notice Text. The
definition of Notice is written or statement that gives information, instruction or warning to
people. Notice or is short and simple information addressed to someone else. Notice should
be easily understood and easy to read, so usually notice or notification always using simple
words, written in a simple, and large font. And it is usually placed in public places. Notice
can also be signs.
This learning activity help me more understand about notice, the caracteristic, social function,
types and Language Features of Notice. I am junior high school teacher and notice is material
for the eighth grade.I can use this modul to explain this material in my class and i will guide
my student in making sample notices needed at our school

Learning Activity 2

Poster and banner both acts as advertisements and notices. In the modern society, they are
used to promote a service or product or inform people about something. However, poster and
banner are not the same.. A poster is a large notice or picture that you stick on
a wall or board, often in order to advertise something. Banner is a large piece of silk or other
cloth, with a device or motto, extended on a crosspiece, and borne in a procession, or
suspended in some conspicuous place.
learning this module is a lot of fun. I became more knowledgeable about poster and banner,
such as notice I learned , the caracteristic, social function, and Language Features of poster
and banner. I think the students are already familiar with posters and banners, it's just that
they see poster and banner in Indonesian and it will be very interesting when they learn poter
and banner in English.
Learning Activity 3

A graphic organizer is a teaching and learning tool that is used to organize information and
ideas in a way that is easy to comprehend and internalize. By integrating text and visuals,
graphic organizers show relationships and connections between concepts, terms, and
facts. The purpose of a graphic organizer is to help students by simplifying information and
by stimulating thinking skills. Students of all ages can retain what they have learned for a
much longer time if the information is organized visually in a manner that makes sense to
them.
A graphic organizer helps teachers explain material to students in a form that is simple and
easy to understand. this material is one that I like because it is new to me and I will try to use
a graphic organizer to explain the appropriate material in class.

Learning Activity 4

Infographics can be defined as a collection of graphic organizers which integrates different


media in simple diagrams: text, images, symbols and schemes. Infographics can be excellent
teaching tools. There are advantages of using infographics in the class

1. Students are visual learners, they are easy to attracted by graphical representation of
information rather than large texts with poor format.
2. Infographics provides more than just words, it also exhibits traits that offer an enhanced
learning experience for students.
3. It easily breaks down complicated concepts into understandable pieces of information
which students can absorb and digest effortless.
4. Infographic is a effective medium when it comes to intrigue questions and provoke
students' minds.
5. It enhances the interpretation capabilities by building critical faculties through the use of
images with contrasting quality.

From some advantages above it will be very great if i can make infographic based on my
material in my class. infigraphic is the most interesting material in this modul but I have to
improve my skills in making interesting infographics so that students can easily understand
the material with the infographic I made.
2. Create a resume as a learning conclusion from this module.

From the fourth materials that I have learned, it can be concluded that English for public
information is a kind of way of conveying information using English. such as notices, posters
and banners, graphic organizers and infographics. As English teachers, we must understand
materials above to teach students how to make notices, posters and banners, graphic
organizers and infographics and how student understand the information that they get from
notice and etc. Graphic organizers helps teachers show and explain relationships between
content and sub-content and how they relate to other areas. Through infographics the teacher
can change complex information by using images, graphs, maps, and diagrams to present a
message in a fast and understandable way so that students can easily understand the material
and the learning process becomes fun in the class. Overall, materials in modul 1 are very
interesting and usefull for me as an english teacher.
