AN ANALYSIS OF IMPLEMENTING

MATERIAL IN MODUL 6 ENGLISH


FOR ACADEMIC CONTEXT

The condition of the students
 The conditon of students at SMP Negeri 16 Krui which is
located in remote areas of Lampung, precisely in Krui Selatan
Subdistrict, Pesisir Barat, where Pesisir Barat Regency is still
classified as an underdeveloped district because it is a new
district. During times of pandemics, learning takes place
online. However, the problem faced is that students do not
have tools / gadgets that can be used for online learning. They
have to lend to their parents. The second problem is that the
network connection in our area is still bad, we are difficult to
get an internet access, so the teachers and students are
looking for a strategic place to get a good signal.
 In the material English for Academic Context
(Analytical Exposition Text), students have some
difficulties such as:
1. Students are lack of vocabulary.
2. Students are lack of motivation in learning
English.
3. Students are not able to make an Analytical
Expositon Text text based on their own ideas.
Implementing HOTS
 In implementing HOTS . I will use Power Point
(slide) and video as the media and the activities
will make students more active and creative in the
classroom. The activities should help the students
to build their Creativity, Critical Thingking,
Collaboration and Communication

Definition of Analytical Exposition Text

Analytical Exposition is a text that elaborates the


writer‘s idea about the phenomenon surrounding. Its
social function is to persuade the reader that the idea
is important matter, and to analyze the topic that the
thesis/opinion is correct by developing an argument
to support it.
