INTRODUCTION
A. Background
One type of text introduced in class C1AKR is Analytical Exposition. Type
the text is quite new for some lecturer, including the author's own. Authors have
difficulty in conveying the text to students. To overcome this problem, the authors
initiative to find as much information about this text and trying to divide the
information to lecturer of English, especially In Kudus Central Java.
After a long search finally the authors found an article about how to make the
argument (because the core of this text students are taught to argue).

Cramming is Bad
How do you study when the test is coming? Do you start preparing
for the test weeks or months before the test or leave things to the last hour?
If you start studying weeks or months before the test, it is great. However,
if you study all the material in the last hour or minute, it is not good for
you and it is called cramming.

The example stimulant is coffee. It causes many problems such as
Caffeine Intoxication Syndrome, anxiety, panic, headaches, and so on. To
sum up, cramming is bad because it disturbs our regular sleep cycle which
cause temporary intellectual lapses and using stimulant for cramming
gives bad effect to our health.
1. Characteristic
a. As we can see, the text is presented with several reasons that support
the argument.
Example: This habit can have a negative impact for several reasons
b. Using the Present Tense
All sentences in the text use the Present Tense. Example: when
students stay up until morning to study before their test.
c. Using causal conjunctions
Example: cramming is bad because it disturbs our regular sleep
d. Using internal conjunction
Example: For most students, less sleep can make them could not focus in
the class. Additionally, cramming can leave us with “something that I
have seen before” in our memory
e. Words that express writer’s feeling or idea
Example: If you start studying weeks or months before the test, it is great

Example: However, being able to recognize something is not the same as
being able to recall it

The exhibition is a text that outlines the ideas surrounding the author of the
phenomenon. The social function is to convince the reader that the idea is the
important thing.
