    FUNCTION OF PERSONAL LETTER

    It is to people we know,such as:friends,parents,siblings,and cousins. Writing


    personal letter has two functions,it is to not only written to inform but also to
    strengthen the bond between two people writing to each other.

    LANGUAGE FEATURES

    -Accuary of grammar is important.


    Sentence structure -Complete sentence are expected
    -Slang can be used
    -Use the contraction,such
    as:l’ll,l’m,we’ll
    -Use personal pronouns,such
    as:l,we,you
    -Use active voice

    -Laguage use may be personal like


    Style first and second person pronous
    -Be warm
    -Use the person’s name you are
    writing to
    -Vary sentence length
    -write in a natural,conversational
    style
    -Let your personality shine through
    your writing
    STUCTURE

    DATE Date when the letter is written(top left)

    ADSRESS Place where you are writing from(top right)

    SALUTATION AND NAME Greeting and the person’sname you are writing to

    INTRODUCTION The opening of the letter usually starts with “how are
    you?”or refers to previous letter

    BODY The main part of the letter. It includes what you want
    to writer to the other person

    CLOSURE The part indicates the letter is going to end

    COMPLIMENTARY CLOSE Short expression like”love you,sincerely yours,love”

    SIGNATURE Signature or initials of the writer

    POSTCRIPT(p.s) After throught in a letter

    EXPRESSIONS FOR LETTER WRITING

    - Gratitude
    - Giving Advice
    - Delivering Good News
    - Delivering Bad News
    - Asking For Help
    - Apologizing
