VJRJ Sari-Sari Store

1. Introduction
1.1 Purpose of the system

This requirement document is for developing the current system for VJRJ Sari-Sari Store. VJRJ
Sari-Sari Store is a store that sells different types of product ranging from candies, snacks, and drinks to
Gasul tanks, wholesale of Pepsi products, and delivery the upgrade of the system would help the owner
and helpers by making stock supplies easier to update through the use of RFID technology and the
system would add a receipt feature for the customer’s purchased products. This upgrade would provide
more monitoring possibilities for the physical stock of each individual product. We would also enhance
the existing inventory system to provide more useful features.

1.2 Scope of the system

The scope of the project VJRJ Sari-Sari Store is to upgrade the capabilities of the existing VJRJ
Sari-Sari Store Inventory system so that the owner and or the helpers would manually update each
individual product’s stock.

The new system will need to have changes hardware wise because of the implementation of
RFID Technology in the System. The RFID technology that will be implemented would serve as an input
device for new stock and new products.

The existing inventory system would be updated so that it will be compatible with the changes
that the updated system would provide. A new feature that will be added is that the automatic creation
of a grocery shopping list of low stock products.

1.6 Overview
VJRJ store is owned and managed by Mr. Rene Ridon. It started servicing the community on the
year 2007. It started by selling daily necessities for the locals up to the point of being able to whole sale
Pepsi products and add an eatery beside it.

2. Current system
The current system lacks the feature to automatically add new products just by scanning using
RFID technology. And the number of stock available would be manually updated by the user in order for
the number of stocks to be updated. With this feature implemented in the system the accuracy of the
number of stock available would increase. And it would make updating old products easier.

3. Proposed system
The updated system will help the owner and the helpers by minimizing the time they use in
updating the stocks manually, add new products to the database of the product, and the same time
easier to update the existing products in terms of price. A feature we are considering is the automated
creation of a grocery shopping list of all the low stock items. All of this is to lessen the owner and or the
helpers time when using the database.
