Students can solve word problems with positive numbers.
Lesson Objective:
After class discussion, demonstrations and practices students will be able to: recall integer
adding and subtraction rules and solve word problems with negative numbers correctly.

Lesson Content:
Integer rules:
Same signs- add and keep the sign.
Different signs- Subtract and take sign of number with larger value.
To find the sum of a positive and a negative integer, take the absolute value of each integer
and then subtract those values. 
What is integer?
A whole number (positive or negative); a number that is not a fraction.
Developmental problems:
A. -234+93=?      B. -435-234=?
B. Brea went to the bank to borrow a loan of $350, but she already owed the bank
$678. How much money will Brea owe the bank if her loan gets approved.
C. Km checked the temperature in a room, and it was -37°F in the morning. Later in the
afternoon Kim checked the temperature again and it went up 45°F, what will the new
temperature be?
Skills: Recall integer rules and apply integer rules.
Attitudes: Freely participate in class, respect others.
Suggested Activities/Procedures:
Introductory Activities (10 mins.): 
Students will play a game named Kahoot that contains addition and subtraction.
Students will be called on to explain their answers.
Developmental Activities/Procedures (10 mins.): 
Students will share what they think is integer.
Students will be introduced to what is integer. 
Students will be presented with two problems to solve.
Students will be introduced to adding and subtracting integer rules.
Using the rules presented students will solve the same two problem.
Students will share solution with step-by-step explanation. 
Students will play a game against each other called war.
Culmination & Closure (3 mins.): 
Students will participate in a chain game. 
As a class student will create and solve equations 
Each student will give either a number, sign or answer.
