Activity A. Regrets from the Dying. In 2012 nurse wrote a book called “Top Five Regrets from the Dying.” Read the article, answer
the questions, and describe people’s most common wishes at the end of their lives. Do not forget to use wish + past simple/past

TOP 5 REGRETS FROM THE DYING
A nurse has recorded the most common regrets of the dying, there was no
mention of more sex of bungee jumps. What would your biggest regret be?
Bronnie Ware, an Australian palliative nurse who has counselled the dying in
their last days revealed the most common regrets we have at the end of our
lives. She has cared for patients in their last weeks. She recorded their
epiphanies in a blog that gathered so much attention that she put her
observations in a book.
Ware writes of the phenomenal clarity of vision that people gain at the end of
life, and how we might learn from their wisdom. “When questioned about any
regrets they had or anything they would do differently,” she says, “common
themes surfaced again and again.” Here are the top five regrets witnessed:
1. “I wish I had had the courage to be true to myself.” Many life dreams have
gone unfulfilled, most people do not live even half of their dreams.
2. “I wish I didn’t work so hard.” Most male patients feel they miss a lot in
terms of relationships because they dedicate too much to their jobs.
3. “I wish I expressed my feelings”. Many people suppress their feelings to
keep functional on short-term situations.
4. “I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.” Often dying people realize
the value of true friendship and wish they had kept them longer.
5. “I wish I had let myself be happier”. This is a very common one where

Happiness is a choice, because it is up to each of the
people to determine what makes them happy, and what
bothers them, but nobody is forcing you to how you
should change your emotional state, with this you have
two options: change negative aspects in positive, or
eliminate them altogether. Happiness requires courage It
requires that you make the decision to be and that you
act accordingly, leaving aside everything that does not
make you happy: People, Jobs, Activities, Places,
Habits ...
