QUESTIONS:
1. What do you and the person to whom you go to do in trying to solve your problem?
2. Why do you think it is important for a person to have someone to talk to in times of
uncertainty and confusion?
3. In what way do you think you can help other people when dealing with their problem?

Write your answers below.

We collaborate as a team and keep trying until we find a solution.

The ability to express your feelings and emotions is one of the most crucial aspects of being a person. Having someone to
talk to could mean the difference between life and death. It's important to talk about your issues with someone so they can
at the very least console you and provide a solution. You'll feel better and experience less stress after speaking with
someone about your issue.

I'll listen their side of the story to learn what happened, and I'm not just offering advise.

D. Working with Others: Dear You

TASK: Read the case of Enteng. Then, choose a partner with your classmate where you can
collaborate with in this activity. Together, you have to think of possible options to give Enteng in
his dilemma. Write down at least two options each in the space provided to you. TIME FRAME:
You may work on this until the third meeting of the week.

Enteng is a graduating Senior High student from Espiritu Santo Parochial School of Manila, under
the HumSS strand. As he is about to enter college, the prospect of taking entrance examinations
from different colleges and universities is constantly in his mind. He always wanted to become a
policeman to serve his fellowmen, but his father is against it as he wanted Enteng to be a
distinguished lawyer for the family. Enteng lived his life constantly trying to please his father, and
this year is no different. He wants to make him proud, but his desire to be of service as a policeman
is too strong. He came to you and talked about how confused he was.

Question: How would you and your partner respond to Enteng’s dilemma? Name

of Partner: Yann Phil Gabat

Provided by you

Option 1:
Let him prove to his father that he is willing to undertake the course he has chosen. And prove that he truly wants to realize that
dream.

Option 2:
If his father did not truly support the path he took. Better to simply present another choice or let him follow his father.

Provided by your partner

Option 3:
I will advise enteng to talk to his father and discuss to him about his concern. Because I am aware that his parents may change their
mind if they see how persistent enteng is.

Option 4:
Then I will tell enteng that he should follow his own will. Because he cannot be truly happy and focused if, in the first place, he
didn’t want the course he is taking.

If you are Enteng, which option would you choose? Why?

If I may ask. Instead of attempting to prove something to my father I would rather do better in the
course of my choosing and establish to him that I am capable of finishing it. However, this is what my heart
yearns for and what I dream of.

QUESTION: Why do you think there is a need for an organization to

establish its core values?
By simply applying the principles to new situations that arise, they empower individuals inside your
organization to make wise decisions on their own. Your organization's basic values will eliminate
obstacles and foster individual development.

As an individual, what would you consider as your core values? How do you
uphold them?

My basic principles can be applied in various contexts because they are all expressed in a single
word. However, you may still put them on Post-it notes, your screen saver, home screen, and
anywhere else that is in your line of sight even if they are only four to seven word phrases.
When you don't have time to think deeply, it's crucial to keep them in your mind.

How do these values affect your life as a student?

The foundation of your life is made up of your values. They control the decisions
you make and set the course of your life. Your decisions about your relationships,
profession, and other activities will be influenced by your values. Even so, few
people actually pick their values.

POINT TO PONDER:
What is the importance of having, knowing and establishing one’s core values?
