In the Literacy video lesson, the students were completing a number of activities such as
reading, making predictions, and completing pre, post, and during reading activities. They
discussed the difference between the past, present, and future. Students were able to make
connections and formulate a prediction of what will happen in the story using their previous
knowledge. The student’s previous knowledge needed for this lesson was tied in with their
vocabulary words. All activities used were relevant and had a clear connection to the lesson
topic.
I enjoyed the different teaching strategies the teacher used to deliver the lesson; he was
able to cater to the different learning styles. When possible visual aids were used to enhance the
lesson and assist the visual learners. The teacher made great use of his learning space for both
him and the students by moving around to complete different activities. He also used different
classroom management techniques to get the student’s attention as well as to have control of
students’ behavior during his lesson. I really liked the Hocus pocus everybody focus, speaking
the answer into hands before releasing it, finger point, and so on. I find these methods to be
unique because it is not seen often in a regular classroom setting.

I also liked that the different areas of language were covered throughout the lesson. The
students were seen reading, writing, listening, viewing, and speaking at different points in the
lesson. It can be challenging at times but to see all five areas covered in a lesson is exceptional. I
also admired when the teacher recap what was done in the lesson, I observed when he ticked off
the objective they completed; this is a great concept that should be used more often. I also liked
the way the students put their thumbs up when they had the correct answer for the questions.

Some change I believe the teacher could have done was when it came to the questioning
techniques the teacher could have used the paletas sticks so that everyone can have a chance to
share their answers. Also, when it comes to sharing their answer instead of everyone speaking at
the same time, they could have spoken one at a time. I also did like the space that the classroom

had. It was too packed; they were barely any wall space and walking area in front of the
classroom.
