HOMEWORK FROM MA’AM NIDIA SOFA

1. What do people think about the job? (Marketing Director)

Most people think Marketing Director earned so much money, well It is not false but
It is not fully true. It depends on how many years you’ve been in this field and how
big the significance you bring to your company through this job, and it depends on
how big your company is. I could say we, marketing director do lots of thing so it is
not that weird for the marketing director have higher wages than the other position.
Other than that, people mostly think we are the same as selling, but we’re not. It is
actually different, the focused, the thing we deal with, it is quiet different. When it
comes to marketing, we have to think the whole processes before the selling
department do their job. We can differentiate them through its component, if
marketing used its component such as marketing mix core that contains product,
price, place and promotion, selling is much more focused on the sales, the number of
selling, the distribution, instead of the whole thing in a business. People do think
Marketing is all about advertising, well, it is not fully wrong but we just have that
connection with advertising through Public Relations. So, yap, Marketing Director is
much more
2. What you like and dislike about the job?
The things that I like being Marketing Director:
- The teamwork : I like being in a team, it is a whole happy yet frustrated situation
when you are on it. Team in Marketing Director have to be in the same vision and
same ambition to reach the target we’ve set for company. It means, you are not
going to successful alone or failed alone, you are going to through all the situation
together, and it is such a touched situation if you could reach your target together.
- The Creativity : I like being creative and productive, especially when it comes to
new things, but yea sometimes it will drained your energy yet makes you want to
reward yourself more because of the results. Brainstorming with the team and
build that creativity makes me believe that are so much more inside a product, so I
really loved to experience that thing.
- The Social life : Marketing is such a big door to world and connected you to lots
of people with different perspective and personalities, other than that you will
learned their culture to reach their interest in your product. Well, the bonus is you
are going to be connected with many people.
The things that I dislike being Marketing Director:
- Being here means you will experienced the exhausted and stressed situation at
some point, because business are all about dynamics, it will change over and over
again depends on how the world and technology growth. It obligates you to testing
new solutions and platforms to present your product and get more closer to your
market.
- You have to be in this field more than three years to have higher fees. Well, I
kinda relate because in businesses marketing field is such an important things and
have to be serious about. Because if we couldn’t do the job properly than the
percentage of being failed is surely high.
- The expectation are high and lots of people kinda point out the whole mistakes on
marketing director. Well, marketing cannot execute it alone, there are lots of
components and departemen that are connected with marketing.
3. My routines or daily activites in Business Administration:
- In Business Administration, I usually do lots of meeting because my organization,
HMAN. While every Monday to Friday I have to attend classes and do each
homeworks or team project. I learn lots of new material such as accounting,
updating data on computer, knowing the essentials of marketing and public
relations. I actually want to improve my English through English for business too,
so I practices more in English and that helps me gain some confidence little by
little.
