Dream Business

Everyday these last few years, I think about my future. Of how one day I wish to own and
build up a massively popular business. One of my dream business ideas that seems to interest me
more than others, is a clothing brand. Yes, it seems too common. But it’s about trend setting and
knowing what the new fads and styles are. Maybe even creating new trends. Men in the clothing
field are usually overlooked. Tommy Hilfiger and Eddie Bauer are phenomenal and hugely
successful in their clothing empires. I definitely aspire to be like them, but in modern years it
seems harder to start up businesses of any kind. But when you are as ambitious and motivated as
them or I, anything can be possible.
When it comes to naming my business, I thought long and hard about it. And when I
struggled to narrow some of my name ideas down, I turned to anonymously survey strangers and
friends. I told them to think clothing and which name sounded more suitable and eye appealing.
One of my ideas, ‘United Desire’ received over sixty of the one hundred votes. And after my
own deep thinking, I also believed in the appeal of that name.
With the business dream, I strive to satisfy all potential target customers. I also strive to
make sure everyone is comfortable in all fits and styles. I want people to feel beautiful or
handsome. My vision is to make all of my customers feel empowering and appreciative in what
they wear. I’d plan to target both genders, all sizes, and all ages. So no one has to look
elsewhere. Instead, they could go shopping at my future clothing empire. All the people who
would have deep interests in my brand, “stakeholders”, could be anyone. Through heartfelt and
customer caring advertisements and genuine intriguing ideas, I believe I could challenge a lot of
clothing moguls and brands out there. My overall goal would be to satisfy all those who walk out
of other clothing stores unhappy or angry. My business wouldn’t judge them, only make sure it
fits their suit and they’re comfortable in it.
When my business starts off, many others will likely turn the blind eye. Usually when
new businesses start up, big businesses do not look at them as threats yet. Customers will love
coming into my stores and being greeted politely. Not only will they walk in with a smile, they
will walk out with one. My company will offer many different styles and areas within a store.
From price ranges being sorted from back of the store to the front. Each side of the store will be
split based on gender. Then, there will be signs displaying age ranges and sizes both. An average
clothing store it seems? Except, we will offer extensive deals and fresh new looks no others
imagined yet. Many clothing stores fail to satisfy different demographics of people. United
Desire will make the right fit for the right people. And those right people will be all people.
I have made some designs for clothing ideas. Shirts, pants, underwear, hats, socks, shoes,
boots, and even bookbags. But I do not plan to stop there. If this dream business became a thing,
I would soar through great ideas. I would have many great artists try sketching out their clothing
ideas aswell and send them to me for a confirmation process. But I’d have to let everyone of
them know their ideas are good ideas, and those that are chosen will get a little sweet bonus. I’d
even allow workers below them in the career ladder sketch ideas and send them in if they
wanted. Just to prove to them that I believe in everyone’s capabilities that work for me. Who
knows what others could come up with?
Competing against other clothing brands might be a struggle at first. But once many of
my great ideas were sampled, worn, and talked about, they’d then see me as a force to be
reckoned with. My theme of my clothing would be for anyone. Not just those skinny people. Not
for just small kids or adults. There are beachy-themed clothing stores, retro-themed stores, and
lingerie stores. All have specific target groups. Which isn’t a bad thing in a business. However, it
would be better to be able to satisfy the whole family. Not just the mom, or the dad, or the kids.
I plan to execute my marketing strategies very precisely. My products would be classified
as clothing. I plan to make my own new looks and designs with different articles of clothing.
Doing so would increase customer interests and keep them shopping at United Desire for new
looks. My prices would be fair to the customers. Not only would they be getting excellent
quality, but they’d pay fair prices for what they’d be getting. Knowing that prices would have to
be flexible to make profit along with paying suppliers and distributors. The placements of my
stores would be in places with a great diversified groups of people. In other words, places with a
mixture of different types of people. These places would help us spread our target marketing
strategies. We can get people from all walks of life. Also, we’d tactically expand our locations to
many famously known malls worldwide. All with hopes to have distribution from storage
buildings within one hundred miles or less. Paying distributors well for their hard work in
delivering products safely and correctly. Many companies unfortunately do not pay much
attention to their distributors. With storage buildings and stores being expanded abroad the
world, I believe United Desire would be a strong competitor to the clothing industry.
In our advertisements, we’d try to bring in everyone. We’d promote United Desire by
doing kind actions to our customers and workers. So by increasing reputation and word of
mouth, people will feel good about buying our clothing. To benefit our customers, we would
give away points on a membership card. For every purchase over fifty dollars, we would add
points to their cards. After so many points are added up, they would get amazing deals or even
free clothing items. All depending on how many points they collect. This system would
encourage people to shop with us often. Another idea I’ve thought of was to introduce an online
template website for my company. With a small annual fee, customers could purchase this
template and would be able to create their own design ideas and textures, and send them in to get
monitored. If good ideas came in and were in the works of possibly becoming accessible in our
stores, the sender would get a special fifty percent off card. These cards will exclusively be given
out to promote customers to send their creative ideas for a chance to have their designs in our
stores. It’d mean a lot to show a customer’s dedication to United Desire.
United Desire would have appropriate SWOT analysis tests every month. Not only within
corporate, but all stores should have to be studied. It is smart to know every store’s strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Because many stores could differentiate depending on
their specific locations or demographic statistics. So in order to keep improving, we must
schedule appropriate monthly SWOT analysis tests for all stores. I believe it would be an
excellent marketing strategy to know what stores need improvements.
I do not believe United Desire would have many problems with customer relations. With
some of the ideas I’ve mentioned and advertising methods, I think customers and the public as a
whole would lean strongly towards my business. I realize not every customer can be satisfied,
but why not strive to try our absolute bests. One topic that increases anger in customers is when
stores lack a return policy. For my brand’s clothes, we would have tags on every article of
clothing with a brief but informative return policy. Every item will be available to return for full
price for the first fifteen days. Then, they can be returned for half price from that point on ‘til
forty five days (with proof on receipt). Also, torn or damaged clothing can be returned for half
price for fifty days after purchase. Once the customer walks out of the store, it’s their
responsibility if it tears to return it. And just in case they don’t keep their receipts from the day of
purchase, there will be a program in our computer systems, that would monitor all purchases
from people for the last fifty days. After that, the clothing can no longer be returned to our stores.
I believe a fifty day return policy like mine, would be informed directly to customers and shall
not cause much problems.
Lastly, when United Desire looks for employees or managers to work for us, it will be a
three time interview process. Only to find the most dedicated and best workers for the jobs
provided. We want people with good intentions and desires to work for us and represent us. It’s
the face customers will remember. First impressions and last impressions are highly important
when it comes to customer satisfaction.
One day, I plan to create and run my own clothing business. United Desire will one day
become so great. As long as I follow my dreams and complete my planned steps to get there, I
don’t think I will have a problem. I will show this world a new look in clothing. Along with a
new drive to put people in comfortable and good quality clothing. Everyone deserves to be
themselves. Why not start with what they wear? United Desire will strive to satisfy all.
