The Installation and Functionality checklist


must be completed for every installation.

3 copies must be made for the following:

+ 1st copy to the Health Centre


+ 2nd copy to Ministry of Health
+ 3rd copy to Fenlab/Dulas as record of installation

System description
Clearly fill in the serial number information on first page of the document.

The three serial numbers can be found on the Refrigerator (A), on the Solar modules (B)
and the RTMD - Remote Temperature Monitoring Device (C).

Shipment details
Inspect the crate(s) and contents during the installation phase.
If any equipment has been damaged, it must be recorded on this document.

Solar panel installation


Safely inspect the solar panel installation, ensuring
the orientation and tilt is correct, the panels are
not shaded between 0900 and 1500.

Adequate roof fixings should be in place, with


theft-deterrent fasteners.

The lightning protection circuit and earth


electrode should be installed correctly and have
been fully tested for electrical continuity.

Array and cabling installation


Only the solar array cable provided by the
supplier should be used for installation.

Ensure all electrical connections and array cables are


properly connected, and neatly installed with cable
ties, wall fixings and conduit around sharp edges.

Inside the health centre, the excess cabling should


be neatly reeled and securely fastened to the wall
next to the refrigerator, with enough slack left to
move the equipment for inspection and cleaning.

Functionality test
The installer must carry out the functionality test in
accordance with the instructions supplied, and sign
the report provided.

Ensure the 30-day temperature logger has been


installed and is functional.

Ensure there is sufficient GSM coverage at the health


facility.

The installer can write any additional notes about the


functionality within this section (5).

Staff training
User training must be carried out at the Health
Facility, with a minimum of 2 staff where available.

The training should include guidance on


preventative maintenance, temperature recording,
as well as the warranty/claims procedure.

The health centre staff must keep all records clearly


in the folder attached to the refrigerator (see next
slide) and be made aware of the emergency
contact(s) in case of equipment failure.

Following the training, the trainees (health centre


staff) must sign the document and leave a contact
telephone number.
Checklist

Storing files
Keeping clear records in a safe place is imperative,
and using this method is good practise.

Use the tape provided to attach the clear folder to


the side of the refrigerator as shown.

Photograph evidence
The installer is required to take clear photographs as
evidence of a safe, successful installation.

It is recommended that multiple images are taken


during the installation process and of the installed
equipment.

Check the photographs carefully and avoid blur,


distortion and reflections. Ensure that all images
clearly show all of the equipment and relevant
surroundings.

When taking close-up pictures of serial numbers or


small components, ensure the pictures are focused
properly and are clearly viewable/readable.
