Host Family Agreement

Volunteer Caretaking at a Featherhaven Farm LLC.

 We are fully aware that we are voluntary staying at Featherhaven Farm (7888
State Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428) in a voluntary state.
 We are fully aware that we are not employees or renters of Featherhaven Farm
LLC. (7888 State Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428) or of Roy and Carrie Lynn
Leonard.
 We are fully aware that we to hold harmless Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888
State Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428) and Roy and Carrie Lynn Leonard of all
injury, possible death, sickness, unforeseen financial emergencies, and any/ all
unforeseen emergencies/ obligations that may occur to us while voluntarily
staying on a Featherhaven Farm LLC. Property.
 We are aware that we are guests of Feather haven Farm LLC (7888 State Route
88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428) and Carrie and Roy Leonard. As voluntary guests, we
are aware that we are to bring no harm to the property, to ourselves, or to
others while volunteering at the Featherhaven Farm LLC (7888 State Route 88
Kinsman, Ohio 44428).
 We will notify Roy and Carrie Lynn Leonard of any needed repair or supplies for
the infrastructure of the property in a timely manner.
 We are fully aware that during our stay, as a voluntary Host family at Feather
haven Farm, we are participating in a ministry supporting the Domestic Church
as dictated by the Catholic Church. We are fully aware that this ministry is
aligned to the fullness of the teachings of the Catholic Faith Practices as
governed by the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
 We have no misunderstandings with regards to the relationship of the teachings
of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and its impact on the areas of Faith
and morals in the world.
 We fully agree with the teachings and expectations of the Magisterium of the
Catholic Church.
 We fully support and work to live and volunteer in a way that mirrors the
teachings and expectations of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and the
Life of Jesus Christ’s Church subsisting within the Catholic Church.
 We fully agree to seek Virtus Training through the local Catholic Diocese and to
keep our certification in force during the length of our stay as voluntary guests of
Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428). We are
aware that the Virtus Certification and the background check process ensures
our ability to safely minister to vulnerable populations of people that maybe
found to be consumers of Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88
Kinsman, Ohio 44428).
 As volunteer guests of Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88 Kinsman,
Ohio 44428), we are aware that we are volunteering to feed and tend to all the
animals & animal pens on the farm. We will notify Roy and Carrie Lynn Leonard
of any needed feed or supplies for the animals in a timely manner.
 We are fully aware that we are voluntarily tending to all the gardens and
landscaping on the farm. We are fully aware that we are voluntarily tending the
infrastructure of the buildings and grounds of Featherhaven LLC. (7888 State
Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428). We will notify Roy and Carrie Lynn Leonard of
any needed feed or supplies for the gardens or gardening tools in a timely
manner.
 We are fully aware that we are harvesting and properly storing the fruits and
vegetables from the gardens on Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88
Kinsman, Ohio 44428).
 We are fully aware that we will support, manage, and provide for monthly
ministering activities that occur at Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88
Kinsman, Ohio 44428) during the duration of our stay.
 During our stay as volunteers of Featherhaven Farm LLC, (7888 State Route 88
Kinsman, Ohio 44428), we are aware that Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State
Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428) is providing us with Board. We are fully aware
that we are responsible for paying out of pocket any consumables needed for
our stay as voluntary guests of the Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88
Kinsman, Ohio 44428). This includes heating oil, electricity, cable, personal
insurance, food, any other consumables, and all personal care products/
household products needed to sustain an appropriate standard of living at
Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428).
 We are fully aware that during our stay at Featherhaven Farms LLC. (7888 State
Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428) that we are responsible to pay for and fully
replace to the same prior standard anything we damage accidently or on
purpose located within the grounds of Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State
Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428).
 We are fully aware that we will undergo an evaluation of our voluntary services
each new contract year and are required to provide evidence of our voluntary
ministerial work on the Featherhaven Farm LLC. Property (7888 State Route 88
Kinsman, Ohio 44428). We are fully aware that a failing evaluation will result in
immediate termination of our Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88
Kinsman, Ohio 44428) voluntary contract. We are full aware that a failing
evaluation of our voluntary services on the Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State
Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428) will result in our immediate eviction from the
Featherhaven Farm LLC. premises (7888 State Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428) to
include any of our personal belongings.
 We fully agree to not take any of the belongings that are the property of
Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428) if evicted or
at any other time.
 We fully agree to properly care for and tend to any of the belongings that are the
property of Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428).
 We fully agree to properly heat and take the appropriate precautions needed to
properly heat the infrastructure of Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88
Kinsman, Ohio 44428) during the length of our voluntary stay at the property.
We are fully aware that properly heating the infrastructure of Featherhaven
Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428) involves consumables to
include firewood and/ our Heating oil of which we are responsible for supplying
and maintaining during the length of our voluntary stay at the property.
 We are fully aware that we are responsible during the length of our voluntary
stay at Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428) that
we are responsible for the up keep of the water softening system at the
property. We are fully aware that the softening system involves consumables of
which we will supply and maintain during the length of our voluntary stay at
Featherhaven Farms LLC. (7888 State Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428).
 We are fully aware that we will immediately communicate to Roy and Carrie
Lynn Leonard any issues, problems, or disfunction of any of the infrastructure,
gardens, animals, or buildings on Featherhaven Farm LLC. (7888 State Route 88
Kinsman, Ohio 44428). So that Roy and Carrie Lynn Leonard can promptly care
for or fix any of the above.
 We are fully aware that we will continually monitor and support the contents of
the Featherhaven Farm LLC. Website (7888 State Route 88 Kinsman, Ohio 44428)
to the best of our ability during the length of our voluntary stay on the property.

According to the Volunteer Protection Act of 1997, Featherhaven Farm (7888 State Route 88
Kinsman, Ohio 44428) volunteers will not be held liable for harm in the follow situations:
“• If the volunteer is acting within the scope of his responsibilities.
• When the volunteer is properly licensed, certified, or authorized for the activities, if
appropriate.
• Any resulting harm may not be caused by willful or criminal misconduct, gross negligence,
reckless misconduct, or a conscious, flagrant indifference to the rights or safety of the individual
harmed by the volunteer.
• Any resulting harm may not be caused by harm due to: the use of a motor vehicle, vessel or
aircraft or any vehicle for which a license or insurance is required; flagrant indifference to the
rights or safety of the individual harmed; sexual misconduct, hate crimes, crimes of violence,
and conduct while under the use of alcohol or drugs.
There are five exceptions to volunteer immunity:
• crimes of violence,
• hate crimes,
• acts of sexual misconduct,
• acts involving misconduct for which defendant has been convicted, and
• in instances in which defendant was under the influence of intoxicating alcohol or drugs at the

“Ohio ORC Ann. 2305.38. Civil immunity of uncompensated volunteers at


nonprofit charitable organizations.
A volunteer is not liable in damages in a civil action for injury, death, or loss to person or property that
arises from the actions or omissions of any of the officers, employees, trustees, or other volunteers of
the charitable organization for which the volunteer performs services, unless either of the following
applies:

(1) With prior knowledge of an action or omission of a particular officer, employee, trustee, or other
volunteer, the volunteer authorizes, approves, or otherwise actively participates in that action or
omission.

(2) After an action or omission of a particular officer, employee, trustee, or other volunteer, the
volunteer, with full knowledge of that action or omission, ratifies it.

A volunteer is not liable in damages in a civil action for injury, death, or loss to person or property that
arises from the volunteer’s actions or omissions in connection with any supervisory or corporate
services that the volunteer performs for the charitable organization, unless either of the following
applies:

(1) An action or omission of the volunteer involves conduct as described in division (1) or (2) of this

constitutes willful or wanton misconduct or intentionally tortious conduct.

A volunteer is not liable in damages in a civil action for injury, death, or loss to person or property that
arises from the volunteer’s actions or omissions in connection with any nonsupervisory or noncorporate
services that the volunteer performs for the charitable organization, unless either of the following
applies:

(1) An action or omission of the volunteer involves conduct as described in division (B)(1) or (2) of this
section;
(2) An action or omission of the volunteer constitutes negligence, willful or wanton misconduct, or
intentionally tortious conduct.

(1) This section does not create a new cause of action or substantive legal right against a volunteer.

(2) This section does not affect any immunities from civil liability or defenses established by another
section of the Revised Code or available at common law, to which a volunteer may be entitled under
circumstances not covered by this section.

This section does not diminish in any respect the immunities provided in section 2305.251 [2305.25.1] of
the Revised Code.

The immunities conferred upon volunteers in this section are not intended to affect the liability of a
charitable organization in a civil action for injury, death, or loss to person or property.” - Volunteer.qxd
