1. Unit/Chapter Goal/s:
Chapter 11 – Measure with a Ruler
Students will be able to understand how to use measurement conversions to solve real-world
problems.
2. Learning Objectives:
Cognitive: Students will be able to explain the measurement of nearest half inches and quarter inches by
using ruler.
Affective: Students will be able to practice drawing a line segment classwork by their own in 15mins.
Psychomotor: Students will be able to identify which number is precise measurement and describe the
actual measurement
3. Materials: (books, white board, A4 sheet)
4. Intro/Anticipatory Set: (Review their previous knowledge about measurement, and let students to
measure the ice stick)
5. Procedure:
Give ice stick for each students
Ask students to measure
Ask their measurement and write on white board
Ask how do they start measure
Draw the ruler on white board
Write the fraction number on board
Ask one student draw the line segment for half inches and quarter inches
Ask another volunteer to point out where is nearest half and quarter
Explain precise measurement
Give example and ask what number is precise
Give classwork sheet (15mins)
o Let students to finish before next class
