DAY 1-MARCH 15, 2021

REFLECTION (Morning Session)

Topic: Schedules and linkages

The first sessions of the first day of virtual INSET gave us information as to what will be
the activities and sessions for the week. It provided us with idea as to where to connect as to
our references to the different subjects offered for our learners.

It was a fun-filled session with the introduction of caliber presenter even if sometimes
conversations could not be easily grasped especially if internet connections fluctuate.

DAY 1-MARCH 15, 2021

REFLECTION (Afternoon Session)

Topic: Synchronous Teaching/Propose Innovative Solutions to the Department to

Empower and Maximize the use of Technology in Instruction

Afternoon session focused on the maximizing the use of technology in instructions.

Techniques were presented as to how this procedure be implemented in the flow of

instructions. It was worth listening. For us, teachers, using technology is a way to lighten our
burden in catering instructions but for students especially in our case/area where most of our
students are in non-internet places with meager income of parents to support on mobile data,
technology-aided instructions are too far-out for them.

It is just with high hopes that we may be given the chance to connect face to face with
our students someday for best possible effects. So Pandemic, please go away!!!

VIRTUAL INSET
DAY 2-MARCH 16, 2021

REFLECTION (Morning Session)

Second day session started well with fine weather and colleagues all around the session
hall.

Discussants focused on the utilization of Instructional Media in the teaching process.

Several benefits were emphasized such as a) media usage in educational instruction attracts
attention b) develops interest c) adjust the learning environment d) promotes the acceptance
of an idea.

The use of social media in the classroom especially during this pandemic enables the
teacher to track students’ work over the course, use it to post homework, share classroom new
with parents and faculty, create out of class study group using specific hash tags, flip the
classroom by posing questions and asking the students to contribute and many more.

Using media engages students, aids student retention of knowledge, motivates interests
in the subject matter and illustrates the relevance of many concepts.

Factors to be considered include the following: economic, cost, time availability, ease of
use, maintenance of the medium chosen.

With all these, we, then expect a happy and fruitful learning in this chaotic world of
education amidst the presence of COVID pandemic.

VIRTUAL INSET
DAY 2-MARCH 16, 2021

REFLECTION (Afternoon Session)

Afternoon session was a continuation of the morning’s session on media as an essential

aid in the implementation of education in this time of pandemic.

Why teach with media to enhance teaching and learning? Effective instruction builds
bridges between students’ knowledge and the learning objective of the specific subject. Social
media is also a medium where students can establish beneficial connections for their careers.
Advantages of the use of social media are:

1. Dissemination of information in a relatively short period of time to a large

population.
2. The power to make the entire world accessible to an individual or classroom.

Media is of great help to students to learn even though in this time of pandemic. It gives
us an opportunity where we can learn something new.

In this way, we have discovered new in this normal way of catering education to our
own learners who are utmost concern today. Despite the threat COVID 19, still, we can be
united to show to our students that “we do care”.
