If you’re happy with using just the 10% of your brain then stop reading now. If you’re not
satis ed and want to be able to use the rest of it then keep reading. Think about the
greatness you can achieve by using your entire mind. There have been a number of great
teachers of using the mind, such as Napoleon Hill, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Maxwell Maltz
and many others. These men knew the secret to using the power of your mind and how
to tap into it.
I’m here to tell you that you currently posses the most powerful tool in the
Universe….your SUBCONSCIOUS MIND. Your subconscious mind knows everything. It has
all the answers if you just use it correctly. It can lead you to a life of harmony, wealth,
health, joy and success! This is possible with all aspects of your life.
It’s not your fault. You were never taught how to use your mind. The past is over and
today can be a new start. It doesn’t matter what happened before today, what matters is
what happens from today on. You must believe in your subconscious mind and know
that it can allow you to lead a life of joy and success.
Let’s start o with a very simple procedure. Use your subconscious mind as an alarm
clock. Before going to bed at night, tell it what time you want to get up. Let’s say you want
to wake up at 7:00am. Before going to bed, tell your subconscious mind to “wake me up
at 7:00am” and while saying this visualize a clock that reads 7:00.
The rst step in changing your life is to start making impressions on your subconscious
mind. You can so this by making a rmations as well as thinking certain thoughts. For
example, let’s say you want to attract money in your life. You can simply repeat these
words “I am wealth and success”. Repeat these words several times a day. It’s best to say
them in the morning when you get up and right before you sleep. This is when your mind
is in an alpha state. When saying them, make sure you really mean them and focus on
the words. Don’t feel it’s a chore or else it will not do you any good. You can also say
them while meditating.

About me
This can work for anything. Make sure the a rmations are positive and not stating the
negative. For example, if you want to quit smoking, don’t say “I don’t smoke”. Instead say
“My lungs are pure and healthy and I am cigarette free.” “I am” are two of the most
powerful words in the English language.
Also, it’s very important to think positively, don’t say to yourself, “I’m just never lucky” or
“I’m just meant to be poor.” Think the opposite, “I am lucky” or “Things always work out to
my favor” and I am wealthy and successful.” If you have trouble believing yourself when
you say them then change them to become more believable. You can start small or say “I
am becoming wealthy.”
If you need help with a problem or are in a situation where you have to make a tough
decision and don’t know which is the best for you. Ask your subconscious mind for help.
Let’s say you are contemplating two separate job o ers and you are having trouble
deciding between the two. Ask your subconscious mind for help by asking it. You may say
something like “In nite wisdom of my subconscious mind, I ask for your help in deciding
what is best between these two job o ers, I ask for your help and guidance in making a
decision that is best for me.”
Be still and listen to your subconscious mind. Close your eyes if need be and do not force
anything to come to you but just be still and listen. If the answer doesn’t come right away,
that’s ok. It’s probably searching for the answer and it may take a little bit of time. But, I
assure you, the answer will come…..maybe the next day or next week. You just need to be
alert and have your antennas up. The answer may come from something outside of you,
perhaps after you wake up. You may be clear in your thoughts on what to do. You may
read or hear something that may enlighten you on what to do. You may receive your
answer by running into a friend and he may say something that may help you decide. Just
be patient and do not get frustrated and think too much about it. By doing so, you are
delaying the answer form coming to you.

About me
“Nothing on earth can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his
goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” – Thomas
Je erson
“A person cannot directly choose his circumstances, but he can choose his thoughts, and
so indirectly, yet surely, shape his circumstances.” – James Allen
“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I
cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of
doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the
capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.” – Mohandas Karamchand
(Mahatma) Gandhi

About me
After a few days he was given a trial at New Haven, Connecticut. No one knew him in that
league so he decided to establish a reputation for enthusiasm. Once established, he
would be forced to live up to his own reputation:
“From the minute I appeared on the eld I acted like a man electri ed. I acted as though I
were alive with a million batteries.”
Frank threw the ball hard and fast around the diamond and ran like a madman to score
for his team. All this was on a hot day when the thermometer was 100 degrees. The act
he was putting on worked like magic.
His nervousness now worked for him by fueling his energy. His enthusiasm a ected the
other players on the eld and they, too, became enthusiastic. He felt better during the
game and after it than ever before.
Next day, the New Haven newspaper wrote: “This new player, Bettger, has a barrel of
enthusiasm. He inspired our boys. They not only won the game but looked better than
any time this season.”
The papers began calling him “Pep” Bettger, the life of the team. Enthusiasm increased
his income in ten days from $25 a month to $185 a month. This was a 700% increase.
Bettger insists that he earned the income not for his ability which was the same as before
but for his enthusiasm alone. He could not catch or hit better than before. Two years
later he was playing 3rd base for the St Louis Cardinals.

About me
Another two years later, he injured his arm and was forced out of baseball. Two years
after this, he ended up selling life insurance. He was a miserable failure at this until he
went to a public speaking course run by the great Dale Carnegie. Carnegie, like his rst
manager, told him to be more enthusiastic.
Carnegie then went on to give a talk on enthusiasm to his class. He became so excited
that he threw a chair against a wall and broke one of its legs. All this reminded Frank of
his early experiences in the baseball world.
“That night, I decided to stay in the insurance business and put the same enthusiasm
into selling that I had put into baseball.”
During his rst sales pitch after this decision, he became so excited that he pounded his
st. He could hardly believe it when his customer listened intently and then bought the
insurance policy. He does not equate enthusiasm with st pounding but “if st pounding
is what you need to arouse yourself inside, then I am overwhelmingly for it. I know this:
When I force myself to act enthusiastic I soon feel enthusiastic.”
Frank went on to become a great salesman and a man who has inspired many other
salesmen and ordinary citizens to live their lives with enthusiasm.
A salesman who is enthusiastic can outsell a non enthusiastic salesman who has much
greater knowledge. The enthusiastic person is like a magnet. He or she attracts and
inspires others to do what they thought was beyond them.
You can acquire enthusiasm simply and quickly by forcing yourself to act enthusiastically.
It also helps to re-read your favourite inspiring passages daily.
Frank, himself, was inspired by a great quote from Walter Chrysler. When Chrysler was
asked to give the secret of success, he listed qualities such as ‘ability, capacity, and
energy’ but added that the real secret was ‘enthusiasm.’
“Yes, more than enthusiasm,” said Chrysler, “I would say ‘excitement’. I like to see men get
excited. When they get excited, they get customers excited and we get business.”
Enthusiasm can make a huge di erence. We could all bene t by being enthusiastic about
something that we currently nd boring. We could be amazed at how excited we become
and how skilful we become. We could also notice that the re of our enthusiasm soon
spreads to other people.
We could end up in the ‘major leagues’ of whatever we become enthusiastic about and
we could have more friends, more fun and more money!

About me
They may have spent little time thinking about what they actually want from life, and do
not really believe there is anything they can do to create their fuzzy version of utopia
anyway, apart from buying more lottery tickets.
Other people do not even know what they actually want from their lives and may even
have little idea what would really makes them happy. They seem to just drift from day to
day, week to week, month to month, and year to year, and do little more than just about
get by.
They may have seemingly secure jobs and be earning enough to live relatively
comfortable lives. They seem happy enough and have no great ambition to achieve
anything more from their lives than they currently have.
Is self improvement important?
The reality is that throughout our lives we are all constantly growing and developing.
Circumstances make us grow and develop, even if we do not make the conscious
decision to do so.
Up to a certain age, we learn through formal education and we continue to learn through
our experiences for the rest of our lives. We have to learn and grow to deal with
everything that life throws at us. We all have to go through self improvement.
Modern life moves at a dramatically faster pace than at anytime in history. For anyone
living in modern society there are more opportunities to do anything that you want to do
with your life than ever before.

About me
Because the workplace is so competitive, people who are ambitious and hungry for
success know they need to learn new skills and knowledge to keep ahead of the pack. To
attain this, self improvement is needed.
