across cultures.

the world.

3. Materials/Equipment:
Globe, Google Earth

4. Teaching:
A.) Gather the children to read. Ask if anyone knows the country Chile. Explain
that Chile is in another part of our world, far away from Las Vegas.

B.) Using the globe, explain that a globe is a representation of the Earth. Show the
children where Las Vegas is on the globe. Then show where Chile is. Present
Google earth, and let the children know that it is what Earth actually looks like
from space. Once again, show the children Las Vegas, then show where Chile is.

5. Closure:
Explain that even though people live in different places, and that places such as
Chile may look different, and the people may look different and sound different
from us, that different is ok. When we look at people who are different from us, we
can learn something new about our world and the people who live in it.
