UPCYCLE PROYECT
WHAT IS UPCYCLING?
Upcycling is the process where "old" products are redesigned into "new" ones. When upcycling, used
materials are gathered and transformed into a more valuable product. This activity extends the
lifetime of secondhand items while reducing waste and pollution.

3. Scissors
4. Narrow, long stick

INSTRUCTIONS:
MAKING THE BASE OF

THE BASKET
1
Take magazine pages and proceed to roll them up (trying to give them
the same diameter), glue the flaps, and flatten the rolls at the end.
Line them up so that they are 8 x 8 inches, cutting the pages at the top
if needed, as seen in Figure 1.
Once the base is made, take magazine pages and roll them up using the
long stick as a diameter guide. Glue the flaps and take the stick out
carefully. Cut the top of the pages so that they are 9 inches long, like on
Figure 3.
WARNING:
1. Be careful where you place your fingers while using the scissors.
2. Do not touch tip of hot glue gun while plugged in.
