b. value the importance of multimedia; and
c. use correct and appropriate multimedia resources when orally giving information,
instructions, making explanations, and narrating events in personal or factual

objectives for today.

C. Comparison and Abstraction

Let us first find out what is a multimedia.

Multimedia comes from the Latin word multus which


means numerous and media that means middle or center.
It includes a combination of text, audio, still images,
animation, and video content forms. It enables the users to
integrate and manipulate data from diverse sources such as
video, graphics, animation, audio and text on a single
hardware platform.

There are 5 resources or components of a multimedia.


And we are going to identify it by playing the game, which
is commonly known as “4 Pics, 1 Word. It is just a simple
game where in I am going to display 4 pictures linked by
one word and all you have to do is to figure out what will
be that word. Are you ready? Yes ma’am!

This will be the first component. What will it be?


The first component is called text.

Text is the most common multimedia element. All

The text can have various types of fonts and sizes.
Text is seen as probably one of the most frequently

speech, music, and sound effects. Audios are sounds that can be
added and combined with all other media types in so many ways.
An audio can function as a musical background to images and
photographs, and even texts.
