CAREER SUMMARY
Extensive four and half years of graduate experience (Two & half years in Gulf) in quantity
surveying, contract administration and construction supervision of high rise buildings,
secondary roads, culverts, drainage works and septic tanks & soakage pits in Bahrain and Sri
Lanka.

1. Sr. Quantity Surveyor (Head Office): May 2007 to Nov 2009

Al Hamad Construction & Development Co. is a dedicated, fully integrated, premium-class
building contractor, operating all over U.A.E, Jordan and Kingdom of Bahrain.

(a). Projects (High rise residential & commercial buildings):

Marina West (www.marina-west.com): Residential Development is BD 150 million
exclusive beach front Mega Project of Bahrain. It consists of 12 Towers: 10 Residential &
2 Five Star Hotels with 2 levels of integrated podium, Hyper market, retail tenancies,
restaurants, Marine Features, promenade, recreation facilities, Beach, Tennis Courts,
Marina with Deck & Mini Harbour etc.
Villamar (www.villamarharbour.com): Villamar at the Harbour is BD 139.2 million
exclusive water front Mega Project in Bahrain and its consists of 2 Apartment Towers, 1
Five star Hotel Tower, 23 Sky Villas, 18 Terrace Villa Apartment, 5 storeys podium
structure contains retail, 81 life style apartments, parking and service functions etc.

(b). Tender Projects: Overall estimation of around 15 projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

Post-Contract: Monthly valuations, variations, value engineering exercise, claims, cash flow,
price escalation, bonds & guarantees, preliminaries, contract sum analysis, condition of
contract and scope clarification.
Quantity take off & preparation of BOQ, cost control, cost report, rate analysis, material
procurement including quotations, negotiation, recommendations & preparing sub contractor
agreements.

Pre-Contract: Contracts & tendering, contract conditions & specifications, schedule of rates,
quantity take off, preparation of BOQ, cost & pricing, rate analysis, amendments, tender
adjustments etc…

2. Project Quantity Surveyor: June 2006 to April 2007

MFCD (LNGO), Sri Lanka
MFCD is a Local Non Government Organization, operating all over in Sri Lanka.

Project: “Rebuilding community infrastructure and shelter for the Tsunami affected families
in the districts of Ampara and Trincomale”. The project which is implemented by UN
Habitat in partnership with MFCD for 974 families covers housing as well community
infrastructure facilities. Project value is US $ 3.27 million.
Construction of houses, secondary roads, culvert, drainage works, septic tank & soakage
pits.

Duties and Responsibilities

Feasibility studies, preliminary cost estimation, quantity take off & preparation of BOQ,
evaluation & certification of contractor’s interim applications, maintain all the contractual
documents of the projects.

Attending meetings, liaison with local Authorities & Municipalities, organizing and under
taking site visit, setting out and fixing all levels, supervise the construction activities,
construction planning, progress monitoring and controlling, preparation of weekly program
and monthly progress report.

3. Quantity Surveyor: Jan 2006 to May 2006

Squire Mech Engineering, Sri Lanka
Squire Mech Engineering (Pvt) Ltd is the leading Multi-disciplinary M1 grade construction
company in Sri Lanka.

Project: Construction of 3 storeys school building at Ampara district in Sri Lanka and value
is US $ 1.75 million.

Duties and Responsibilities

Monthly valuation, variation, cash flow, site measurements and sub-contractors bills,
quotations, invoice statement and retention.

Supervise the construction activities, construction planning, ensuring accuracy of work as per
approved drawings, method and documents, preparation and monitoring the daily programme
of work, controlling wastage and other resources, shop drawings review for dimensions,
reinforcement, levels and alignment, evaluation & certification of sub contractor’s interim
payment applications

4. Trainee: June 2004 to Dec 2004

STEM Consultant, Sri Lanka.
STEM is a leading Structural Consultant Company, operating all over in Sri Lanka.

Project: British School in Sri Lanka consists of 4 storeys main building and 3 storeys sport
complex with swimming pool, value is US $ 3.5 millions.
