MODULE 4: LEARNING DELIVERY MODALITIES IMPLEMENTATION

PLANNING

Lesson 1: Assessing the Readiness of Learners, Teacher, &

Parents

Activity 1:

1. Please see the accomplished Module 4: Readiness Checklist

for Learners, Teachers and Parents.

Activity 2:

1. As for me, conducting psychosocial preparedness seminar for

the parents and guardians for the opening of classes, will be
an eye opener for them to get prepared and have a mind set
on the new procedures to be implemented for the “new
normal” in the field of education. Aside from this, conducting
a survey pertaining to their availability in providing learning
support and guidance to their students, as well as, checking
the learner’s learning environments can be use by the school
as bases to apply necessary adjustments and implement
appropriate measures to address the concerns in adapting
new procedures Learning Delivery Modalities (LDMs).

Lesson 2: Learning from Selected LDM Implementation Models

Activity 1:

1.
This Learning Modality (Wenger & Ferguson, 2006), shows a 4-
quadrant model that includes Studying, Practicing, Teaching
and Coaching. The model also shows 4 different focuses:
Content Delivery, Guided Navigation, Experience and Practice,
and Learner Self-Navigation. It describes that students can
learn things through studying, through books, references and
other learning materials, then practicing what they’ve learned
through projects and producing other outputs. Teachers were
tasked to teach students, which focuses on lessons and content
delivery, then advances to coaching by giving students class
exercises and experiments.

According to an iNacol report on Blended Learning, Horn and

Staker’s definition expresses that “blended learning is any time a
student learns, at least in part, at a supervised brick-and-mortar
location away from home and, at least in part, through online
delivery with some element of student control over time, place,
path, and/or pace. The modalities along each student’s learning
path within a course or subject are connected to provide an
integrated learning experience” (Horn & Staker, 2013).
The model shows the Blended learning, a combination of face-
to-face learning (traditional classroom instruction) and online
learning (learning delivery using internet and other online
learning platforms). In our present situation, blended learning
can be one of the choices by the institutions in conducting
teaching-learning process, wherein students can use the wide
resources from the internet as reference, and conduct learning
deliveries through online learning platforms, like Google
Classroom.
Activity 2.

1. Based on the presented models, the model introduced by

(Wenger & Ferguson, 2006), is viable to be implemented by
our school. It may be traditional, but more appropriate to be
applied in our school. Most of our students prefer to under
Modular Distance Learning (MDL), wherein printed modules
and learning materials were distributed, activities and
assessments were also included, so the students can still
study, learn and perform their activities while at home. The
students can also practice what they’ve learned and the
teachers can apply teaching and coaching techniques by
giving the students appropriate exercises and projects for
them to learn deeper.

Activity 3.

1. Please see the formulated Module 4 Hybrid Learning

Implementation Plan.

2. The Hybrid Learning Model is viable to our school with the

following considerations:
a. Learners can have the F2F learning especially the
subjects with laboratory (e.g. TLE subjects, SHS TVL
subjects)
b. Online distance learning can be applied especially to
those students who have internet access and can
access the subject contents for 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week.
c. Modular learning (printed modules and learning
materials) can be used as supplemental learning
procedures.
