1. 3D MODELING

1.1 PURPOSE
The purpose of 3D Modeling is to review the engineering documents and drawings and prevent
problems which may arise during construction. The 3D models shall be developed to a level of
detail that is consistent with the submitted drawings as deliverables.

1.2 3D MODELING SCOPE

The equipment vendors shall provide 3D models of both equipment and structures. The contents of
3D modeling details are as follows. Item not in the scope of supply by vendors is excluded.
1) Civil
- Concrete foundation
- Steel structure
- Handrail, Ladders & Stairs Etc.
2) Architecture
- Building foundation
- Steel structure foundation
- Equipment foundation
- Wall (Opening, Window, Door)
- Ladders, Hand rails, Gratings, Etc.
3) Equipment
- Mechanical equipment & nozzles
- Platforms and ladders for maintenance
- Cranes and hoists
- Maintenance area for pumps
- Maintenance area for heat exchangers
- Equipment insulation envelopes
4) Piping
- Piping
- Piping Supports
- Valve Hand wheels and actuators Etc.
5) Fire Fighting and HVAC
- Fire Fighting Pipes
- Hydrants
- Sprinkler System
- HVAC DUCT in the building
- Drain pipes in building

1.4 SUBMISSION FORMAT AND METHODS

1.4.1 3D Model to submit shall be created as one of the following formats.(included 3D model List)

1.4.2 Graphic Core is Microstaion J or equivalent and please use the following working unit.

1.4.3 The location of all 3D model files should be placed at the coordinates shown on Plot Plan.
3D Model should be located in actual position from the origin point.

1.4.4 If 3D model file naming rule is required, the equipment supplier should follow.

1.4.5 Model files of equipment, plumbing, electricity, steel, etc. shall be separated in each file as per the
discipline. Each file size shall be less than 2MB.

1.4.6 The model list shall be submitted with the 3D model files.

1.4.7 For the main equipment, the inside items shall be modeled. (If there is no interference inside
equipment, only the external shape of equipment could be modeled by agreement.)

1.4.8 Model file should show the properties for each element on review program. The minimum property
is as follows.

pressure, test pressure etc.)
- Etc.

- Cable tray size

1.4.9 3D model should be checked as follows before providing.

□ Work scope specified by contract
□ Working unit in 3D model
□ Consistency between 3D Model and drawing
□ Location and direction of 3D Model
□ Consistency between nozzle location and drawings
□ Piping and Cable Terminal Point
□ Consistency between 3D Model and list, etc.
