Teachers will introduce the lesson: “Good Morning class today we are
going to be introducing a barrier to learning and that barrier is
substance abuse, and how it impacts children when trying to learn. If
you guys (students) will go ahead and click the link I put in the chat it
will take you to a public activity where you are able to tell me any
information that you already know about substance-abuse oh and
how it impacts a child’s learning. *Teachers will read Allowed The
students responses in the paddleit and answer any questions
present*
1. Teachers will present the slides on substance abuse
2. While presenting, students will be able to take notes on the
slides, paying attention to the underlined words for they will be
helpful to remember for later

“Teachers will….”
Include lecture, activity,
discussion, etc. but not
hook or closure again.
3. Students at anytime during the slides can ask questions or ask
for clarification
4. At the end of the slides the teachers will open up a discussion if
anyone has something to add or further questions.

(Time: 5-7 min total.

Lecture portion should

be 2-3 min at most!

Closing 1. The students will do a mini pop quiz at the end of the lesson in
order to see what they learned throughout the presentation.

the lesson? 2. After the quiz is introduced we will allow the students to have
