Barrier Mini-Lesson Planning Sheet

Good morning everyone. Today we are going to talk about latchkey children, which is an
important barrier to learning for many kids. A latchkey kid is a child who takes care of
themselves with no adult supervision after school. First, we are going to do a quick four corners
activity.
The teacher will ask each question, giving students time to think and choose an answer
in between each one. The four options are strongly agree, agree, disagree, and strongly
Intro/Hook/Warmup disagree. Each option will correspond to a different corner of the room.
