What is a teaching portfolio?


“A collection of documents and other items that provides information about
different aspects of a teacher’s work. It serves to describe and document the
teacher’s performance, to facilitate professional development, and to provide a
basis for reflection and review.”

PURPOSE
The RT Portfolio provides a demonstration of how a teacher approaches his or her
work and presents evidence of the teacher’s teaching philosophy, professionalism,
resourcefulness, creativity, effectiveness and collaborative work. It serves as a
source of review and reflection and promotes ongoing professional development.

Keeps all relevant information available for the RT,


coordinators and quality team
Minimises emails and attachments
Mirrors RT’s self-assessment and work for others
Maps RT’s PD objectives
Saves each RT´s history and experience with CEI

How to create a page in CREA?

Pages in CREA allow you to add text, images, videos, HTML, or any


combination of these elements to present up-to-date information.
A page has a Rich Text Editor that enables you to customize font
styles, colors, indentations, and other options. You can also upload
files, embed videos, and customize the HTML of the page.

Plus a CHOICE of five different samples per
class:
- Discussions: opening post, students’ posts,
RT’s feedback, S-S interaction
- Media album (for example, picture dictionary)
with comments.
- Assignments (students’ submissions and RT’s
corrections).
- Badges
- Analytics
- Portfolio or blog

NB If the RT has fewer than three groups and/or one or more cannot work in CREA, the RT
must explain why in a written statement.

The Crea  page will be updated throughout the year including samples of three courses.
One relating to the class observed by the QM and two other different groups chosen by
the RT. This page shows a range of samples that reflect how the RT encourages the use of
different tools and features of the platform.

Professional Development Page

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES 2019

Include samples of:

Attendance to events (webinars, workshops, seminars, etc.) organised by CEI/British Council

or any other TEFL/TESOL organisation.

Completion of other relevant courses (for example, F2F or online courses on materials

design, ICTs, SENs, etc)

Evidence of classroom research

Samples of self-observation tasks, recordings

Participation in online forums and Crea groups and courses

Reflective tasks (journals, roleplay, etc)

Tasks completed in relation to suggested readings (summary, mindmap, etc)

Collaborative tasks with colleagues and sharing good practice

Written or published articles for ELT publications

The Professional Development Page will be updated by the RT throughout the year
including samples of the current year’s PD activities relevant to CEI.

Preparing Files for Upload


Images must be clear
Text must be legible
Sheets must be oriented upright
Keep file naming consistent with guidelines
jpg and png for images
pdf or doc/docx for documents
